I actually think I have a good shot of getting in, which I think is a bad thing because I’ll probably get disappointed tomorrow.

^ Yeah, we should all commit suicide like right now :/

guys… WHAT are we going to do if we don’t get in???

in my psychology class we just finished studying schizofrenz (sp?) and i’m really starting to relate to it and i for real think i’m going to develop like 7 unique paranoid personalities if i don’t get an acceptance letter.
i ONLY applied to uchicago, so my future depends on this!
what are you guys going to do if you don’t get in??? ahhhh i’m freaking OUT.

two of my friends got into Yale yesterday. Really happy for them but also extremely scared for myself. Friday, please be kind.
I’ve been unable to do anything else.

Exactly one day, people! #iamgoingtodiewaiting

I feel like I’m going crazy waiting and I keep thinking stupid what-ifs like “what if it’s really 5 am” or “what timezone are they even referring to?” But knowing chicago, I feel like something like that could happen

@mgh. It’s 5PM. It’s central time. Nothing to worry about :)

Thanks. I have to say I’m both relieved and disappointed though :/

Did anyone of the EA applicants receive a University of Chicago Poster during the last few days? Does it mean anything?

Yeah, I mean, I got a letter from uChi that talked about how great their humanities department is a couple weeks after I submitted my application, which was basically centered all around the humanities as I want to study visual art and art history. At first I thought there might be a connection between the two but I really doubt it. I’d say to you guys with similar situations (poster, etc. -the poster is beautiful though, I currently have one on the wall in my room :D) to not think too much of it, really, in the grand scheme of things. I feel like these mailings are purely coincidental and are just a part of uChi’s advertising system, irrelevant to whether we even applied.

Ohh please let it be tomorrow!! xD I couldn’t possibly wait any longer… At this point I’m ready for anything, just no more waiting !! D=
Good luck to everyone ;O

The stuff they send you means NOTHING. I am going to be a philosophy minor and also got the humanities letter/poster

wait so its 5pm central time? jesus thats another hour I have to wait…

I received a poster long ago, and the humanities letter. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

I received a poster, and the Life of the Mind, a 1cm thick booklet on why you should attend Chicago/what it’s like. They’re really good with the propaganda.

And also…they said by 5pm Central…does that offer the possibility of earlier? :D

I expect the decisions to be up by 4:30PM CST at the latest. They had a lot of complications last year, so I think they’ll be up early. I’m SO EXCITED!

i didnt get anything!

just got deferred from MIT, looking forward to another deferral or rejection!

@Azndarkvader – sorry to hear that, I got deferred from Georgetown this week so I want UChicago’s decision to be one that cheers me up too :)

@ManyMoons – I think it’s best for us to assume atm that it’ll be 5 PM CST (even though they didn’t indicate time zone darn it!) But I’ll be waiting at my computer from 5 EST on just in case, baking cookie brownies (YES, they exist) to keep me a tad bit more sane (and I’ll need some consoling sugary goodness depending on this decision…)

My biggest fear: everyone will be checking it at the same time and the site will crash and I’ll go bald from the agony of it all! I have a research paper and a test on the French Rev this Monday, I kind of would like to feel a little more relaxed with an acceptance in hand, but I’m not so sure about the decision now either considering the increase of applicants…

@Mgh92 – I’ve had dreams like that for the past two nights! (No, I am not getting much sleep as a result)

And about the poster–I don’t remember if I received one or not but I do remember getting two identical, very thick, color booklets from them a little while back… (I think it might’ve been a mistake in the mail. Or do they want me twice as much? wishful thinking) A friend of mine got a t-shirt when she sent her scores in early, too-- they do this college ad thing very well. I wouldn’t rely too heavily on that poster now, but we’ll see tonight!
