Class of 2016 Brown RD Applicants

slept about 4.5 hours last night… it’s going to be a long day at school!

good luck to you all!

may the odds be ever in your favor :)

Today has finally arrived! I wish everyone the best of luck today. I am so anxious and I barely slept last night idk if I will even make it to 5!

Has anyone else recently logged on to his Brown student account and found the “View Admissions Decision Online” hyperlink? While it’s possible that the hyperlink won’t actually be activated until later (5 or 6 p.m.), either way, I absolutely refuse to click on it. Could someone else please let me know if you experienced the same thing?!

I tried to log onto my student account and got this message:

“Error occurred during logon
You are not authorized to use the Web Information Systems. Please contact the Student Records Office for more information.”

This waiting is so hard!

I’m pretty sure it will just lead you to the Admissions Decisions website that they provided in the email. It just says that Admissions Decisions will be released March 29.

[Brown University Admission Decision](http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/)

It did the same thing to me, too, the second time I tried to log on! Trust me, though; it definitely led me to a page, where I could have viewed my decision. I really wish I had clicked on the hyperlink. Now I’ll just have to wait like the rest of you…

I don’t want to be a downer, and everyone should be hopeful, but realistic: Ivy acceptance rates are less than 10%. If you get a deny (like I will) it’ll be ok. The school just isn’t big enough to accommodate all the amazing kids (us) who apply.

But for now, we’re ALL contenders.

And in the meantime, could someone explain to me how you post on the decision thread and get the “Accepted/Waitlisted/Denied” title to format correctly?

Oh, and also: Brown is my only Ivy. How many of you are getting multiple decisions today, and from where and what order will you get them?

I’m thinking that it has a glitch in its system… I still refuse to check.

Dear Applicant to the Class of 2016,
You may view the decision on your application online beginning the evening of March 29, 2012. Whatever the decision, we thank you sincerely for having applied to Brown.

View your admission decision <— HYPERLINK

View your application, Register, View your academic records, and Student Accounts

FarvaBean, yeah that’s true, but when you clicked on " view your admission decision" , it appears that " Dear XXX, Admission decisions are currently not available. Check the Undergraduate Admission web site for specific dates and times." so we still have to wait

^^ That’s what mine says too. Clicking on that link was so nerve wracking… I almost don’t want to know what my decision is haha

What about everyone checking their financial aid status. I heard sometimes there may be a glitch whereby you can see a financial aid award before you can see your admissions decision; if you have a financial aid award visible, that would probably mean you’re in. That’s not working for my daughter, though… LOL

^ I swore I was the only one! lol I kept clicking “accept aid offer” to see if anything came up

@FarvaBean

not clicking the “view your admission decision” link? really? that’s weird. Click it!

So how many of you have heard NOTHING! I mean deafening silence? (other than the application acknowledgement email, portal registration email, life after Brown email, and decision announcement email). Just matter fact, bare bones, bare minimum communication? No requests for additional school info, no requests for additional FA info…

I think that’s telling

Well, giterdone, if that’s true, I’m in your boat. But I didn’t apply for FA, and had my school send my mid-year report anyway…

I clicked the links says '“View Admissions Decision Online” and it says to wait until evening.

Well if you sent in all of your materials on time, then there’s no reason for them to email you asking for additional things.

I haven’t received any emails outside of the ones giterdone mentioned, except for a follow-up email for my LL.

Yea, I think that’s a pretty big deal. More than an “oh, by the way…”

We also didn’t apply for financial aid (but they were sent the FAFSA and CSS profile) and the high school sent the mid-year report through the common app, which Brown downloaded.

But many “selective colleges” that D applied to, and was accepted at (UMich, UR) corresponded on the FA info during the process… and the ones that didn’t (NU, ND) she was rejected at… NOT a good omen.

The one school I got those emails from was MIT, and I was rejected. I also got them from JHU, so hopefully that’s not indicative of a rejection. The other 6 schools I was accepted to, I didn’t receive those emails.

I thought schools send those emails automatically, based on whether the online system (like MIT’s or Brown’s bannerweb) has your info in.
