Class of 2016: EA/Regular decision discussion

@reallyconfused, Yeah from what I’ve seen from past threads, the acceptance letter only has one more piece of paper than the deferral letter. But if you go on the usps website, and fill out the specs of the letter and send date, it says that it should mail out on monday… we can only hope though!

Believe me, I am hoping very much to get accepted! But I can’t help but get the feeling I will be denied. My SAT scores are horrid. But I think that I nailed my essays! I was very proud of the essays I wrote. Plus, I’m an under represented minority, and that usually helps

That does help :b I’m asian…so yeah… haha. But I don’t even know how to feel about my application anymore… I’ve read it over so many times. Hopefully we can be saying Hoya Saxa after next week!

I feel the same way. I am so glad that there is someone else out there that feels my pain! Being on college confidential just stresses me out though! Other people who want to go to GU seem to have much higher stats than me. It really just makes me depressed. Lol. No matter what happens next week, I just want to know already just so I don’t have to be in suspense anymore

Yeah. Like the rest of the CC population, I have the random bursts on cautioned optimism but then I have the random depressed anxiety attacks. I thought GU applicants were going to be the first ones to find out too… But Columbia, UPenn, Stanford jumped the gun on us.

I just want to know what day it comes… I have a final every day of the week, and all I’m going to think about is “the mail comes in a couple hours…”

@AngelfanKLo, where on the USPS website did you go to estimate when the letters would come? I’m in MA so hopefully if they were sent out yesterday I’ll get it today or monday…I just hate not knowing :frowning: :frowning: :(

here’s the link

[Postage Price Calculator](<a href=“File Not Found”>http://postcalc.usps.gov/)

I calculated that it would probably be around Monday for CT, so likely a similar date for MA

I spoke w/the Georgetown admissions office yesterday to try to confirm the timing of their decisions (we live in CA and are leaving for a holiday vacation on Thurs so we didn’t want to miss it). The person I spoke w/said that if we haven’t received the decision letter by Dec. 15th, we can call the admissions office and they’ll give us the decision over the phone. So one way or the other, everyone can know by Thurs, regardless of the schedule of the mail service. Hopefully sooner, though. Maybe everyone else knew this already, but I was pleasantly surprised! Good luck, all.

does anyone live close to georgetown? people should put down where they are from and when they get letters so the rest of us will have a better idea of when we will get them :)

PA letters have not arrived…good luck to all!

i live in richmond, virginia, but i haven’t received a letter yet. good luck to everyone though!

@Reallyconfused12, Story of my life. My SAT was terrible and probably one of the worst decisions I’ve made was taking it (seeing as my ACT was heavenly in comparison) and yes College confidential is torture!! I can’t help but look at everyone’s chance feeds and feel like crap! But I’m praying that my few hooks will be enough!

Sent from my Droid using CC App

I got my acceptance letter today! Georgetown Physics, class of 2016!

I live in Rockville, MD, by the way, and my friend who lives a little farther out in MD hasn’t heard yet…

ahhhhhhhhhasdfkadshkfj oh my god
waiting for this is the most painful thing ever

So… when should letters reach Long Island? Were they sent out already?

Sorted through my mail today. No letter here in New York. I’m from the suburbs just outside the City.

mada, was it a regular envelope or a ginormous, obnoxious one?

It was thick (there were around four pieces of paper in it), but in a normal-sized envelope.

One of them is double-sided, though, so you might just see something about an open house first; don’t freak out when you don’t see the “Congratulations,” it’s there!

@mada34 congrats!!!
