idk how, but my parents have convinced me to wait until they get home from work, around 6, to open the letter. idek what ima so w/ myself sittin home knowing everything i have worked for lies inside of my mailbox. But im not gonna check my mailbox to see if its in there before its time to open it cause idk wanna be able to tell whether its acceptance/defferal by just looking at the thickness

How do I manage to try to do AP Calc BC hw, yet somehow find the time to stay on College Confidential…

deferred!

my parents just showed me. they hid the envelope from me because they didn’t want to ruin my weekend hahahah. crazy persian parents reading my mail

This decision business is just as nerve wrenching as submitting my Georgetown application in September!

saman, sorry to hear that.

@saman42:
i’m sure you will have a great chance getting in rd though, you have amazing stats!! <3

^^^ Agreed~ plus an awesome unsupervised party can wait till the spring :)

hahaha thanks, guys. and yes, the party is a bummer, but I have a feeling they only promised that because they knew what was coming haha. good luck to you guys, though!

Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough. I’m so anxious!!

Would you all agree Gtown puts class rank as the most important part of the app? I wish I was wrong. I also just noticed First Gen is not listed among the things they consider, this is really disappointing as it is my only hook.

But perhaps they do take into account the fact that I have parents who couldnt help me with my math homework after second grade :D

Anyone here from FL and know when we will be getting our letter? I used the usps estimator and it said Wednesday; I just want to confirm

there’s a 99.9% chance I’m getting deferred, but im still nervous…

and im sure class rank is a huge part of the application, but its not everything!

Agreed. At this point I am completely expecting to be in that of the 99.9% chance of rejection. The closer and closer it comes to the hour I get that letter, the smaller and smaller my confidence becomes.

So, in some past years, the acceptance letters have been small. What can we expect in terms of size of the letter this year? I’m sure this has been answered, but I haven’t seen it. Thanks

I’ve heard that acceptance letters are 4 sheets thick but in an ordinary business envelope.

This waiting is making me sick the constant “I’m so not in” feeling to the “how awesome would it be to get in” feeling is making my mind and stomach run circles.

I’m not sure, but depending on what people have said so far, I am guessing that both letters come in smallish envelopes, but the acceptance letter is thicker with four pages. Again, I am truly not sure, this is just the impression I got from reading other member’s posts.

It’s killing me. I’m the opposite of many of you; I feel I should get in, but the chance that I may not is killing me.

So EA decisions are already being sent out? I’m confused, I thought they emailed or mailed starting the 15th. Or am I wrong and they didn’t start mailing anything out yet…

@jdolinger: they mailed them out on friday 12/9

I’m so nervous… my application spaced funny so it doesn’t look pretty. I only got around three minutes to talk in my interview and I didn’t use them wisely. Lack of demonstrated interest in foreign policy (unfortunately you can’t have a one man model un team). Counselor rec with a TON of typos. Couldn’t get a recommendation in the subject area I’m interested in (teacher is really bad procrastinator…) Hoping that a killer test scores/grades/un-foreign servicy extracurriculars will keep me out of limbo (deferr).

Also too nervous to use proper punctuation/grammer/spelling.
