I hope I get in after working my butt off, but their decision won’t validate what I’ve done for the past four years or dictate what I’ll do in the next four years. I’d be lucky to go there, but they’d also be lucky to have me, and same goes for everyone! That being said, best of luck to everyone.

Supposedly, they sent out the letters on Friday so people that live close have already received their decisions. The current idea is that most people in the US will receive theirs by Monday or Tuesday.

jeeze, i shouldn’t have joined this forum. i wasn’t expecting to get the letter until thursday, would’ve been way easier to swallow if i didn’t know it was coming.

shiiiiiitttttttttttt

just out of curiousity, how hard did you guys work during high school? i honestly feel like i barely did anything, my school is one of those places you can manage to just copy most of hw and still get As and i also spent wayyyyyy too much time high so most nights i would end up doing close to nothing. college will be a wake up call, i feel sure…

I have had some extremely brutal high school classes, but for the most part I didn’t need to try very hard to succeed.

Are any of you in an IB program?

Not gonna lie, i had to work real real hard to get my grades/scores and whatever. coulda had much more “fun” but had to make sacrifices to do what needed to get done…now here we are. Tryna be DC Chillin next fall like my man Wale, but we’ll find out soon!

I think a lot of it isn’t that the classes weren’t hard, but that we are significantly good test takers and really naturally smart/good at memorization. Also, it helps a lot to have a vested interest in education, and care about learning.

High School bores me. A lot. That’s probably why my grades have gotten worse every year… I just stopped caring

i just want those dang letters! haha :)

As someone who has sacrificed countless hours, tears, and blood to get my grades, test scores, and somewhat good extra curriculars I will be severely annoyed if I end up at a school I could have slacked off and still got into. (sounds a little snooty, but its true)
@rrshelton6- I wish, but my school doesn’t offer it.
Seeing as georgetown is one of only two schools I’ve visited… I’ll prolly end up as a Hoya IF I get accepted; though my parents would prefer me closer to home
and I managed to finish studying Calc two and polish up a big, nasty paper… while checking CC religiously…
To think I used to chuckle/jeer at the seniors who did this.

I am going to attempt sleeping right now but I don’t know how that is going to be possible knowing what could possibly be in the mail tomorrow afternoon…

@bp94 I am. I feel as if most people on here are not in the program. lol I feel so measly with my 3.5 GPA. despite being in IB.

I don’t know what I’m going to do if I don’t get my decision tomorrow… which is actually pretty likely because I’m an international applicant ):

@sunny from where?

@rrshelton6- From helping friends with IB homework, I can say it’s its own beast. Though I don’t think its that much more difficult than a well structured ap class designed to prep you for the exam.

I’m on block scheduling and my finals start friday… If i do hear back today or tomorrow i’m trying to see what the effect will be haha. If I’m deferred i don’t know if i will really try hard get to get those good grades and get in during the spring, or just be depressed and stop caring

So I have found it hard to think of anything but opening up the letter this entire weekend. Everything else studying for finals included has kind of been put on hold until tomorrow. Am I the only one who stuffed an envelope with a trifold of 4 papers so that I could figure out how an acceptance letter feels so that when I receive a “light” envelope all of my fears will have been realized before I even open the envelope…

@JonDrums: OMG i did that this afternoon! hahahahaaha my dad looked at me like i was crazy lol

@rrshelton: Canada. Are you an international applicant as well?

@jondrums is there a big difference?
going to try it now… haha
it’s 11:11! i know what everyone’s wishing for…
