Class of 2016: EA/Regular decision discussion

I was told (by D, and also by someone else a few pages back) that EVERYONE gets the same A10 envelope. Those of accepted students are slightly thicker (contain more than one page). Have not opened D’s envelope, but hope it contains an acceptance (is definitely of the thicker type). HHHHrrr who comes up with these things?.

I’ve done my research an the acceptance letters will have 3/4 sheets of paper in them, rejections just one.

Also, my flight to go out of the country leaves in an hour! I don’t get back until the 7th! I told my family to not touch the envelope or give me any indicator of what it says. This is going to be the longest ten days of my life!

There has to be a special envelope “flavor” for waitlisting, no? :_)

All this ish has finally paid off…

ahh i live in VA, hope my letter is there when i get home, but i’m waiting for Cornell in 5 mins…

Deferred then rejected. GW here I come!

GA, didnt receive a letter yet

ahhh I hope CT gets letters tomorrow!

Tough luck saman, I remember you giving me some advice a while back…Regardless, I have a friend that won the Trachtenberg scholarship this year and needless to say, if I had applied, I would have taken that scholarship away from someone who needed it…back to the topic at hand, Hopkins has just made this next month much harder…

Haha yeah I remember that. GW gave me a Presidential scholarship so there’s really no further thought required on my part. Good luck on making your decision! I’d go with Georgetown, though. Baltimore is such a depressing city lol.

GW chose me a Deans scholar, and AU the Frederick Douglass, both equating to (with grants) nearly or more than full tuition, if I had to stay at home. Baltimore is a pretty bad city, but #1 medical is enticing, but this is only undergrad, but Georgetown is not as great as I thought it would be, but arrrgh…I have a month to settle this. Best of luck to you at GW.

are these coming by mail? i live in NJ and haven’t received anything yet. this remains my top choice but my parents may force me to go to princeton. good luck everyone

Oh, wait nvm I just assumed you were studying IR, I’m not sure why. If you’re doing anything with the hard sciences, then yeah, you have a tough decision to make.

After the Ivy Day massacre I just faced this afternoon (0 for 5), I hope Georgetown joins in on the ensuing battle between Georgia Tech and Northwestern

Does anyone know if Georgetown sends financial aid awards with the acceptance letters?? Thanks

Last year the FA letters came around April 7th. Good luck.

I already have a netID and was able to check the aid awards online through myaccess. Generous offer, especially compared to Hopkins, which offered me $10,000 less…Georgetown has given me an EFC of $2,460…my FAFSA EFC was 1500, figure out the math and answer this: Do you think Hopkins made a mistake?
