Hi! I cannot describe how excited I am to attend swarthmore this fall. I think it'd be interesting to discuss our potential majors or specific classes that we plan to take. Perhaps the discussions can allow us to entertain the idea of majoring in something that we have not thought of, or, they can serve to help us re-examine our goals. Ultimately, I think this can be fun.
For me, I find a lot of areas intriguing and I keep changing my mind about my potential major(s). I started off with engineering, then to comp sci, then to double major in comp sci and engineering, then to double major in compsci and philosophy. I think I am pretty set on compsci right now and I like the idea of studying philosophy a lot. Just a few days ago I discovered that I am interested in Russian as well (I find the alphabet and the culture amusing). My latest plan is to double major in compsci and philosophy (taking only the minimum 9 credits in philosophy and about 12-15 credits in compsci), take 4 credits in Russian (to become somewhat proficient in the language), and then hopefully the rest would be enough to fulfill other requirements ( I'm kinda iffy about this).
I think my current plan is challenging in that all three areas are completely new to me (that's why I am currently learning some basic programming and tracing Russian alphabets).
I realize that I do sound like an ambitious high school over achiever haha. I'm still extremely ecstatic that I got into swarthmore even though i found out in mid feb.
what are your academic plans??

Oh, and everyone is welcome to chime in btw (alumni, parents of swatties etc..) !
