I figured I would create a thread catering to the EDII Vassar applicants like myself :). I'm also interested to find out who else is applying EDII and I hope EDI applicants (and future Vassar students) can help us out with the process :).

I was actually thinking about doing EDII to Vassar College. However, I’m deciding not to now! It will raise your chances to get in though, so I really hope you get in! It’s an amazing college…Just wondering, did you do the “YOURSPACE” supplement? if so, how long was yours?

Haha, thanks :)!
I have a sorta draft for my YourSpace but I haven’t exactly decided if I should use it. I have 3 ideas, and I wonder if it would be excessive to send them all. I’m afraid it will be too long but my ideas are:
artistic supp (a picture)
my plan of action (it would be an extension of my “Why Vassar” sorta) along with an excerpt from an academic paper I wrote that completely relates
and a review/analysis I informally wrote about a tv show

And all your ideas sound amazing! I never think it’s an issue being too “excessive” with the application! The more you send, the better because the worst that can really happen is that they’ll just put it to the side…but that’s just my take

Anyway:

1 Idea: Discuss environmental issues that I dealt with (relates directly with the major I would like to study: environmental sciences) & the environmental campaign I led.

2 Idea: The funds I raised as a youth volunteer president in a hospital!

I love to write, so they’re both very story-like papers…still deciding though…The decision-making is the scariest part!

I’m not sure what you’re doing for the “Why Vassar” question, but it’s possible that if you currently don’t have anything that you could use idea #1 and then have idea #2 for Your Space.

And I think it would be cute if you also sent something from your campaign to them (like a sticker or a flyer you made and handed out).

I feel like they’re giving us so much freedom that I just want to include everything.

Hi NoeMee,
I’m applying EDII too! I just submitted my application yesterday (super relieved & chilling out knowing the fact that there’s nothing more I can do). I was wondering, when do the decisions for this round come out? On the vassar site it says late January but can anyone from c/o 2016 who applied EDII tell us last year’s exact date decisions were sent?

I’ve read that it’s a pretty significant boost. Especially if you’re a male. The ED acceptance rate was around 40% in comparison to like a 23% overall acceptance rate. I applied ED II yesterday!!! Hey everyone!

I got everything in except my counselor ED Agreement on time! I emailed her numerous amounts of time, but she probably won’t get to it until tomorrow morning. Does anyone know how bad this will affect me applying ED2?

Edit: She just submitted (at about 12:50 AM Pacific time). I don’t think the admissions office will be bothered by that since they aren’t even open right now.

cubebutt, you’ll be completely fine. Admissions officers won’t penalize you for delays in the parts of your application that your counselors and teachers are in charge of. My counselor literally submitted my ED agreement 11 days after the ED1 deadline and I still got in.

oh, and @deckthehalls , did your counselor submit it late through the common application, or did she mail it? because my counselor submitted through the common app and it still says that it has not been received.

I applied EDII too and my counselor submitted through the common app, and it says “downloaded by college” but it says not received on my app status

For most of the other schools I’ve applied to I’ve gotten e-mails about application portals and stuff… Has Vassar sent e-mails to you guys saying theyve got you app?

@blankk, I applied ED1, and I received a “Vassar Application Acknowledgement” email the Monday following the application deadline. That email included a link to the application portal.

@cubebutt, 8 days after the deadline my counselor submitted my school forms/letter of rec through Naviance, and she says that she signed the ED agreement at that time also, but for some reason it didn’t go through to the common app from Naviance (idk why), so when I got back from thanksgiving break I had her fax a physical form directly to our admissions officer. You see, 6 days after the deadline the admissions officer responsible for my area (aka the first person who reads my application omg!) emailed me to ask about my missing documents and gave me her fax number. If there is a problem with a form not being received, they’ll probably email you. But my guess is that they just haven’t processed it yet and if you give it a few days it’ll show up as “received.”

Hey guys! Also applied ED 2. What are your stats everyone? Male from NYC, 3.9 and a 2080, theater major. I can hardly wait for the end of the month! Good luck everyone!

Hey people,
So I also applied ED II and I’m an international student from Europe…
Should I be worried that it still says Not Received on the ED - Agreement part?
I called twice, but the person that is responsible for my letter of the alphabet never picked up her phone. -.-

Anyways, I’m quite excited and good luck to all of you! I hope all of y’all will end up where they truly want to be :-P

I think I know the answer but… do you think it’s at all likely they’ll let me change RD to ED II right now if I called them? Because I really think vassar’s my first choice and would love to know by the end of the month…
