Class of 2017 - How Many Colleges Did You Apply To/Are You Applying To?

I applied to 9 only because I don’t think applying to more would make a difference in my case.

Lots of fun those apps were…

I have applied to about 15 schools and I’m still not done. I still have to try my luck on at least one Ivy League and apply to more local schools. I looking at about 20 schools that I will have applied to by the end of my college application process. I have 10 acceptances and 1 deffered so far.

I’m applying to 4 or 5.
2 safeties. 1 realistic. 2 that are semi-reaches.

Accepted to Emerson (my first choice!) for Writing, Literature & Publishing.

Waiting on letters from:
Ithaca, Lesley.

And I’m applying to 2 state schools for financial purposes.

I applied to 12 so far, I might add two more depending on what happens with princeton tomorrow… D=

But I’ve been accepted to umich engineering, so no need for safety schools!

Applied to 11, 4 EA.

It may seem expensive to apply to many of the front end but if it results in more options including broader financial aid opportunities, it is money well spent. If you are certain where you want to go and know you are a good match/fit, you dont need to apply to sso many., But if you are not a superstar, you may feel the need to apply more broadly in hopes of getting accepted by a reach.

Applied and accepted to bard idp (immediate) and doin regular to amherst, swarthmore, haverford, harvard, and oberlin

No offense to those of you who applied to a ton of colleges, but what is the point? Wouldn’t it save you a ton of money to figure out what your preferences are ahead of time? I think that one safety, one to two matches, and one to two reaches should be good right? Just my opinion, but when it seems like a lot of people are spending close to $1000 more than they need to be.

If your college list is top-heavy or you’re looking for merit aid at an “elite” program, you’ll probably need more chances for admission that at other schools. If you really want to go to an Ivy, for instance, you’ll be competitive at a lot of schools but may only get into a few, leaving your choices relatively limited but probably different than what you’d hoped for earlier on.

I applied to Campbell University, Liberty University, and NC State University.
Accepted to all, confirmed acceptance & submitted enrollment fee to NCSU (1st choice school).
