Harsha - I just checked again. I can not pay right now it says timed out and something else. So I know pay bursor is not working since DS has been accepted.

I mean I only have a 2020 sat so I could see my decision going either way. About 12 hours from now we’ll start finding out!

Out of curiosity, did you guys start off with 3 or 4 of the tabs mentioned. This may be significant because if we all started with 4 and they are removing them for some people, they could be giving those with 3 tabs a correct link that doesn’t time out? Arghhhhh… I am going to go insane trying to understand what admissions might be doing

@MichiganGeorgia - thanks for checking :)

Harsha - Your welcome. I believe that everyone starts out with 3 tabs. DS has 4. While they may still be adding tabs for kids. The way it worked in EA was if you had the 4 tabs with campus services where it says you can pay your housing deposit. Those kids were accepted.If you have 4 tabs I think you are in:)

@eagles94 - Out of curiosity, what was your EC involvement like?

It is just a hypothesis, I am probably completely wrong, and I hope what I am about to say doesn’t come off as rude. You said you took a lot of Honors/AP classes. What I am thinking is that those who took solely AP/IB classes may have had a GPA edge on you because G Tech doesn’t add rigor points to honors classes. The average number of AP/IB classes taken by accepted applicants is 8. I hope you don’t think that my comment is rude, but do you think you match up?

Is how I heard G Tech looks at applicants. I am probably completely wrong though.

@Harsha

I have taken a total of 8 APs. Problem is that most of them I was only elgible to take my senior year so they wont count since GT doesnt look at mid year report. I have an A in 6/8 of them so that really would have helped. :/

??? I thought for RD they did look at mid-year reports?

nope

They do see what you take senior year though.

@eagles94 - Ughhh… That sucks man But like I said, this is all hypothetical! By tomorrow, you will probably be the one who got accepted, and I will have probably gotten rejected. DONT COUNT YOURSELF OUT YET. These are all just guesses to help each of us feel better about our own odds. Who knows? Maybe we will both get that acceptance letter :)

I’m so hoping to see changes in these indications by tomorrow morning or afternoon… agh

@eagle - Ok. I guess it maybe the deferred kids from EA enter mid-year grades. At least I think they do because someone was commenting last month that their grades went down and it wasn’t going to help them get accepted.

@MichiganGeorgia - I believe you are right. Deferred candidates are strongly suggested to fill out an update sheet that includes grades, test scores, and achievement updates. Google for the Georgia Tech deferred video, it was pretty informative.

@Michigan

Yeah I guess. Its tough for me now because senior year has been my best year and they wont be seeing it. But its worth it anyways haha.

This was just posted in another thread by a College Counselor. They get the minute reports for admission stats.
Apparently, these were Tech stats for RD this year.

From the admissions office:

" This year we experienced a tremendous amount of growth in applications, receiving a total of 17,650. That is 3,000 more applicants than last year, representing a 20 percent increase. Our admit rate will be 40 percent – making this the first year in Georgia Tech history we’ve admitted less than 50 percent of applicants. "

In terms of numbers here is the profile for Class of 2017.

Regular Decision Profile

All Applicants: 17,650
Averages: 3.83 GPA, 2050 SAT, 8 AP/IB/Dual Enrollment

Admitted Students: 40 percent Admit Rate
Averages: 3.99 GPA, 2150 SAT, 8 AP/IB/Dual Enrollment

I have no extra tabs so I was rejected.

I really like GT campus, Atlanta and warm climate, so maybe I can transfer after freshman year. I am going probably to start at UIUC.

Good luck to all of you guys.

I am rejected. I saw my result few hours early.

now I have to start my freshman year at UIUC or UT Austin.

I will transfer to Georgia Tech after one year.

So 3 tabs mean you’re rejected? It’s 6.5 hour before they release the result right now and there’s no possibility that they would update my status? :’(

am an applicant from India. I don’t know why but till now I have not got nay notification via mail. I am confused and nervous. Does anyone know the reason for this ? There is little time left before 5 p.m.
