I got in!!!

Accepted to the School of Communication!

Accepted to School of Fine Arts Acting/Performance Arts!

, very similar to to stats however waitlisted???

Sent from my DROID RAZR using CC

I got my acceptance into the College of Communication and would love to get to know anyone else who got in as well (:

@FastNeutrino I’m in the same boat. Waitlisted with 4.2 GPA, 34 ACT. I know they say they’re need blind but maybe it’s because I’m from California and can only afford about 15k tuition

Does anyone else think it’s weird that some top applicants are the ones waitlisted. (I’m not disgruntled I’m just curious)

I don’t think so. I need a lot of money and I was still admitted…from ca and for biomed enginerring (I am in shock)

@goldenstatez, from what I hear, many schools will reject or waitlist students whose stats are way above the average. They do this because they realize many of these students are using their school as a safety and most likely won’t actually end up at the school. I know some one from my school that got rejected from UCSD and Texas but was accepted into U Chicago. (she had amazing stats, like you).

I’m sure you’ll end up at an amazing school. And im sorry to hear about the waitlist.

I hope this helped.

Waitlisted.

2090 SAT.
3.4 GPA
Demonstrated interest including visit to campus from NJ
100’s of volunteering hours as a certified EMT
Applied to Human. Phys premed program at SAR

bleh

The invite to the honors program should be included, right? Is it in the main letter or elsewhere? I’m at work on my phone trying not to get caught, so I can’t really look in depth…

I got in!! CAS, Honors college, and presidential scholarship :)

Am still waiting to see if BU wants me. 34 ACT Eng. program, 4.4 GPA, National Merit Finalist, all AP and Full Diploma IB from California (does that count for diversity in Boston?) . I read in earlier post and other forums that some schools don’t accept kids who are in (or above) their usual freshman profile range because they think it’s a safety school. I hope BU doesn’t think I’m “overqualified” or applying as a safety and dump me in favor of someone who really is using BU as a backup/safety. I want to attend!!

^Your decision should be up already. Have you checked the portal?

@CollegeBoundCA: Have you checked portal? If so, although it may be late now, I would send them an email showing that I’m interested!

@mrleftovers yeah I’ve heard of colleges doing that but I actually wanted to go to BU. Like it was second choice school. So now, I’ve been waitlisted from my top 2. But yeah I’m sure it will all work out for the best

yes, been checking since 10:30 am. Every time I walk by my computer, I re-click the login button. no dice.
keep getting the “server busy” message…I can get onto other websites (like this one) so I know it’s not a problem on my end. I wish people would get on, print their info/stats and GET OFF THE BU PORTAL so other people could see what their future holds.
It’s agonizing.

^Is it bad that I went and logged in just to check if it worked for me?

It surprisingly did.

Keep trying.

I posted before on this thread I’m still mad that I got waitlisted…doesn’t seem too fair.

3.98 gpa/36 act

Come on now!
