@goldenstatez im sure of it! youll go to an amazing school and do amazing things in life! honestly, i got rejected from my first choice a while back and i was so devastated. i placed all of my dreams and hopes to that one school, and i had already made friends with my best friends roommates and group of friends. they were rooting for me, and told me i was a perfect fit for that school. and then i was rejected, it was disastrous! in addition the rejection letter that was very rude in my opinion.

luckily, its not a flat out rejection. if you really want, i know some people in my school, what they did in the past was to call the school every once in awhile to see if they would admit them. and it seemed to have worked for some of them. i know its not the best option, but if its your second choice it could be worth a shot.

BU was my top choice and I was rejected. My SAT scores and GPA are above their average. I am devastated and was very confident about getting in, I really planned to go there this fall.

@maxyend–it’s not bad…just don’t do it again!

Augh! Have since rebooted, tried several other webrowsers, sisters computer…etc.
I think this is a bad omen and I’m not even superstious. I’m doomed.

See now you SAY it isn’t a flat out rejection, but I along with countless others, I’m sure, was also relying on a financial aid package from BU.

And since most university funds are depleted by the time people are taken off the wait-list…

it might as well be a flat out rejection for me

finally…could…log…in…accepted but with so little FA I likely can’t go.

Not sure where they think I’m going to get the $…my dad was out of work for 3 years straight…and just got a job last year.

bittersweet that i’m in, but not willing to take out $50K in annual loans just to attend.
that would be insane. Maybe I can auction off my acceptance to Col Eng. and use the $ to go to my #2 school…
blech.

well, i’m sure i’m not the only one with major financial issues, due to the recession and long-term unemployment, but only 10K? really?

i thought they would try a little harder given my family’s situation along with my merit standing of full IB/AP, GPA, test scores, NMFinalist, etc.

@mrleftovers- No it’s fine it wasn’t anything against you. Sorry if it sounded harsh. It was more of a clarification/reason as to why we’d be angry about the wait-listing

Got accepted. 2230 SAT, 3.7W, solid ECs, good essay (IMO). Doesn’t actually matter because I got $0 in financial aid. Glad this happened at BU and not at a school that I really wanted to go to. Almost wish they rejected me rather than expect me to pay almost 4x my EFC. Congrats to all who got in and are looking to attend.

There really doesn’t seem to be much of a pattern here. My daughter was accepted (CAS) with a $50,000 FA package.
2210 SAT (680M, 800 CR, 730 W), 4.0 UW GPA, many EC’s and volunteer hours, 5 AP classes (her public school doesn’t offer too many AP’s so this was the most challenging course load available), great recs.
She did not apply for scholarship because she didn’t apply to BU until the end of December after the scholarship deadline had passed. However, she did not get in to the honors college.

I may seem bitter from my posts, but I truly congratulate those who got in. I’m actually currently in Boston for a band trip, and this city is probably th best in the country (alongside New York). I love it here!
Maybe I didn’t demonstrate enough interest. Idk. Oh well, I’m over it.
