linymom- Great news!! So very happy for your DS!!

Linymom–I believe I may have already congratulated you and DS on a Tulane thread, but will gladly repeat it here. My DS is trying to wrap up his app to Tulane this week.

It sounds like you (and your son) have really been on the ball and it has paid off. We visited Tulane last August and are fairly familiar with NOLA if you want to pm me with questions.

We have one acceptance in hand, sure would love a couple more before Thanksgiving!

Linymom,

Congrats to you and your son on Tulane and the $$$. Not only does your son get to sit back and watch his friends sweat out tests, essays, applications and waiting for results…he can do it with the satisfaction of knowing he has a top flight acceptance with lots of $$$ saying that the school really wants him to go there. And he can just sit back and enjoy the rest of his senior year.

I posted these in the Music Major thread, but I will add them here as well.

Daughter has been accepted at:
Duquesne
Tulane
University of Louisville

Since she has to audition (bass Music Ed major) in, the Louisville is Arts & Sciences acceptance with a move to School of Music after a successful audition.

Her apps are in to Shenandoah University, UNC-Wilmington and Ithaca College but none of them accept you until after auditions are complete.

D has made a decision! She was accepted into the Honors Program at UW Whitewater and with her new ACT score of 27 (was 25), the money is right to get through school with little to no loans!! AND it’s only 1.5 hours from home. I’m so excited!! She looks really good in purple too :D

Not that it matters now, but St. Mary’s in MN upped their original merit aid from $12k - $15k per year which was great but D felt they were too far away and too small. But it was nice of them none the less.

Now to stock up on Warhawk gear!!

^^
Happy for you and your DD, mamaduck! (And esp. for the little to no loans!)

Congratulations to your daughter!!

My daughter has been accepted to four schools (decent merit aid from all) …now only 12 more to go! I am thinking she will pick the school 1200 miles away with the most expensive travel costs! I really wish I had found this place sooner, and will pass it along to other families for the future.

@wstlfb8 decisions have not been made for some of those schools you listed, how can you say that you were accepted? Also no one can say that they will be accepted into an ivy league, not even early decision results have been released yet…

Oh boy sorry I copied that format from a person in last years thread D: ill edit it as soon as I get on a computer!

Ah JennyLeann it won’t let me edit it, but I’ll post a new one for you

Haha okay I was curious to know how you got accepted already!

JennyLeann, here you go! Sorry for causing you confusion!

LINYMOM-congrats to you & your son with Tulane! A friend of mine here in our district has a daughter committed to play volleyball for them. She is so excited!

My own daughter so far has been accepted to College of Saint Rose with the Trustee Scholarship. She applied EA to UMiami (Feb 1 can’t come fast enough) and Elon.

Yay to all the acceptances so far!

My DD is also in at Tulane (with $$!) and at Mizzou (also with $$). Her first choice tho is Northwestern where she went ED. They are supposed to be out with decisions in “mid-December” - the stress level is so high in my house right now. The next two weeks will be very very tough! She also has applications in at American, BU, Emory, UMiami, UMaryland, UNC and USC. And she’s still working on two more apps . . .

Congratulations to all!
My D got accepted to the PharmD program at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with a presidential’s scholarship of 14k/yr. However, we are still waiting for other decisions, so tense.

Good luck to everyone waiting on the 15th!!! I have 2 EA- one being my top choice- coming in by then- My #1 is in the mail *Crossing Fingers!!

My daughter got accepted to her 2nd safety - Northern Arizona University. We submitted the application on Friday morning, Nov 30th and she got a personal phone call at 4:30pm PST today (3 business days later) from admissions on her cell phone!!! Snail mail to follow. Its one of the few reasonable cost schools for her major. How cool is that?? - she is on cloud nine.

Plus, they offer the WUE tuition exchange so Mom is liking the financial fit :)

Congrats coralbrook. I love Flagstaff and was married there. Would your daughter choose NAU over Montana State?
