Class of 2017: Senior schedules?

AP Calculus AB
AP English language and composition
AP US Gov
AP Human geography
AP Lit/lit 4 honors
Physics honors
Financial literacy
I’m wondering if AP English Literature is truly worth it. What are the benefits of taking it?

@calife17 A class on thanatology sounds so cool! Do you go to a school for the arts?

@realtwinkie I’m taking AP Lit right now. I really like how as part of the curriculum, the class also touches on the history that surrounds the novels we read. For example, we learned about Romanticism to prepare for Wuthering Heights. The class has definitely made me view literature with a wider perspective. The poetry part is pretty hard, but it makes me appreciate writers who are able to convey so much in so few words.

I know I posted my schedule earlier but I found I’m gonna have to change it due to summer school problems. I’m taking art over the summer now. This is my schedule.

Honors Physics
AP Chem (2 periods)
AP Lit
AP Stats
AP Comp Sci Principles
Spanish 4
Sales/Marketing

I’m gonna be screwed with two sciences but you gotta do what you gotta do

Possibly:

Honors Physics
AP Lit
AP Calc AB
AP Gov
AP Econ
AP Psych
Finance OR Child Development OR Anatomy OR AP Bio (this is basically a free spot I have, so still choosing what class I want)

Most likely:

AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 2
AP Spanish Language & Culture
AP English Literature
AP US Government & Politics/AP Macroeconomics (One semester for each, then take both tests in May)
Studio Singers 7-8
Track & Field

1.AP Chemistry
2.AP Physics C
3.AP Calc AB
4.Human Biology
5.AP Literature
6.AP Stats (maybe)

AP Calculus BC
AP Physics C E/M
AP Biology
AP US Government & Politics
(AP Literature or Humanities or Journalism)
Latin 2

@photogeek8 Maybe. I’m not entirely sure yet.

Senior Tentative
IB Bio cells and molecules (not testing IB)
IB Chem 2 (HL)
IB Modern World History (HL)
IB Pych 2 (HL)
IB Calc 2 (HL class, but not testing)
IB Japanese 5 (SL)
Econ/Gov
IB Senior English (HL)

I really want to take IB Bio cells and molecules because genetics really interest me and is something I am interested in studying in higher education, although I haven’t taken physics. I plan to graduate with 6 science credits, double my graduation requirement (Bio, Chem, Anatomy, IB Chem 1, IB Chem 2, IB Bio) Do I really need physics? I could take physics instead of IB Bio, but it will just be normal physics and not an IB class. I feel like I wouldn’t like physics… Also, I don’t have to take a math class next year, as I met the requirements. But I think it would be cool to take the highest math class my school offers so I think I’m going to take IB calc 2.

Also with the whole physics vs IB Bio choice, I am trying to get into the top 5 of my class by the end of senior year, and IB classes are weighted and raise your rank. I am currently 11/456

My gut says to go with IB bio but I am afraid not taking physics will hurt me a lot in college apps.

AP Lit
AP Calc BC
AP Stats
AP Art History
Latin 6 (post-AP)
Personal Finance and Health (grad requirements :/)

There aren’t any senior history classes at my school, and I really want to go into the social sciences – I’m hoping I could get self-study credit for World or Euro, since neither of those are offered.

The heck is a Latin 6? I swear, I learn about new classes everyday in this forum…

@AMan236 Latin 6 is like Latin 1, but more hellish.

so mine will probably be:
AP calc BC
AP bio
AP stat
Hn anatony
Hn english (I may do AP lit)
lifetime fitness
religion (required)

AP Relaxing
AP Eating
AP Reading
lol just kidding. I’m not sure really, my school is huge and offers a ton of classes and I’m not sure what I should take :frowning:
I’m leaning towards:
AP Bio
AP Calc
AP Lit
AP Physics
Horticulture
Symphonic Orchestra
food trends? ( they basically make really good food everyday)

@purpleflower Which AP physics are you thinking of?

@AMan236 At my school we take Latin 1 in seventh grade, so by the time we’re seniors, a couple kids take Latin for their sixth year! It’s just more literature – Ovid, Catullus, Caesar, etc.

Dual enrollment Lit
AP macroec
APGov
AP Phys
honors Spanish 3

AP CalcBC
AP Stats
Ap Psych
Journalism 2

I’m undecided about electives, but for core classes I’ll most likely be taking

AP English Lit
AP Calculus (I think AB)
AP Biology
Gov/Econ
AP Italian

I think the scheduling process starts in February or March so there’s still time to figure things out.

AP Calculus BC
AP Chemistry
AP Economics/Honors Gov
