Class of 2019 application and acceptance thread!

courtney how long was your status “under review” for?

My status is still under review and it’s been about a week.

Me too and new ACT from Sept still not posted…ugh!

Counselors are assigned by county, so wait for people from your school to get accepted

Oh I didn’t know that -thanks!

any updates from those that have status’s as “under review”?

Not yet. I’ll post when I hear something.

Me either. ACT from 9/13 still not posted…

anyone have any updates? Any “under review” status’s change yet? Keep us all posted! SHS? Courtney?

No omg! Stinks! I actually called and my ACT still not posted from September even though MSU said they have it. The admissions person at MSU said it could be beginning of December before I hear because they technically can have until then before the 12 weeks are up. Totally bummed. There are also a few kids that are starting to hear from school so I am getting nervous!

Are you in state? I have another friend who’s app is “under review” as well. Making me nuts!

Yes MI. Kalamazoo.

Mine is still under review. No one from my district has heard anything yet.

I was admitted today!

Fantastic EMS! Can you please post your stats for everyone else? GPA, ACT etc?

I got put on hold. They want to see my 7th semester grades, do a background and experiences inventory, and still haven’t posted my ACT scores from 9/13. I have a 3.5 UW, 3.88 W. So bummed today.

Don’t be bummed! You’re on hold not denied admission! I have ZERO doubt you will get in! You stats are fine. The background and experiences inventory is something everyone who gets in does. My son has to do it as well - his is on his portal as one of the steps he has to do as he registers for admission, etc. Do they even have your ACT yet? My friend’s daughter had a 23, a much lower gpa a couple of years ago and was wait listed. She did finally get in sometime later in the winter/early spring. Don’t be bummed! And put out a great fall semester!

3.4 GPA
1810 first SAT, haven’t gotten my October scores yet.
4 years Quiz Team and Marching Band
10 clubs ranging from GSA to Key Club
Peer Counselor, Tutor, Camp Counselor
Job at Justice
Honor Roll, Academic Award Winner
And what I thought was a pretty great essay!
I posted a finished application on 10/12, got accepted 10/20

SHS what was your personal statement about?

I got (wait listed, deferred whatever its called?) and I’m so upset like this is my number one choice because it’s the only one I can afford and if I don’t get in here I’ll have to go to college from home. I had a 2.96 GPA with a upward trend and I’ve taken 7 ap classes and the rest are all advanced, a 30 on my ACT, a fantastic essay on my immigrant background and how I taught myself English and now I’m going to college as an English major, and I’m a low income first generation college student. I also live in Michigan. I really don’t get why my whole college experience is literally over because I did bad freshman year because of personal problems. Here’s hoping I don’t drive myself crazy before I maybe get accepted in January-ish!
