I live in Massachusetts, about an hour away from Boston, and will post on here as soon as my letter comes. Last year the letters were sent out on the 14th or 15th of December. If the pattern remains the same, letters should be mailed out on Monday the 15th and most people should hear back by Friday the 19th. I am expecting to receive my letter on the 16th or 17th, depending. Good luck to all! :)

Just made an account on CC and I am super scared to see what my EA decision will be 8-X . Somehow talking to other students in my position calms my nerves.

Haha, same with me, I guess misery loves company.

Hey guys,
As with most of you, I’m very anxious, excited, and a bit scared to see my BC EA decision… I’m still learning about BC admissions, and was wondering if they accept students in the 29 ACT (1950 SAT) range for EA. They claim to only take the top applicants EA, but can a strong academic record, great recommendations and extracurriculars, as well as good essays make up for a very mediocre score? I’m at a 29, and I know other applying EA have scores significantly higher than that…

I’m in the same boat! I’m hoping my EC’s and my GPA boost my application.

@njkid2197:
Look at the BC Factbook, around page 31. It shows the middle 50% SAT score range for accepted students.

I’m curious to know how many students applied EA to BC this year. Historically, they’ve been known to accept around 40% of applicants EA. This seems like great odds right.

Also quick question guys, I’m new to the US so I have no real sense of a college’s reputation, but I was speaking with a family friend, a professor at an NYC law school and a graduate of three diff ivies and he laughed in my face when I mentioned BC. He said that in his circle, BC isn’t really recognized that much. Anyone wants to weigh in?

It’s pretty clear he has a very small circle.

Lol I mentioned the same thing. I’m not too big on reputation, but I must admit it plays a role in my college decision process mostly because I want to do an MD/PhD program later on (I know, lofty goals hahaha)

Haha that’s actually really funny that he laughed at BC… Interesting, because all of the people (adults and peers) that I’ve spoke with and told them that my top school is BC, they all tell me who phenomenal of a university it is. BC definitely has a very strong, academic, athletic, and spiritual reputation, so I don’t see why someone would say such a thing.

I cannot wait to hear back!

Has anyone received any BC related emails or undergrad admissions mailings? Because I sure haven’t.

Not recently, the last email I received was the one that says “your application is here!”

I’m driving myself absolutely crazy waiting for decisions. Just about 20 days until we get our letters guys. We can do this, I’ve been counting down since 50 days.

Yea I’m as anxious as you are @SMarie101. I’m constantly checking my portal for the slightest change lol

so wait do decisions come through the portal or by mail?

Through the mail, which means it’ll take longer the further you are from Boston. One thing to note however, is that last year some students had a updated application status page that had enrollment deposit listed under their required documents. So I guess you can also look out for that

@kellz10- The decisions are mailed but there will be a portal change a few days after decisions are mailed. Good luck!!!

Does anyone know when the Presidential packets come out? That’s basically the only way I can go there because my parents don’t qualify for need-based but can’t really afford the 60,000+ a year…also hi everyone!I’m just as stressed as you are don’t worry! :-SS

@swimlife Based on what has happened in the past years, if you are a contender you should get a letter about the Presidential Scholarship shortly after you get your acceptance letter (in your letter it should specify that you have been accepted into the Honors Program if you are in the running for the scholarship). I wish you the best of luck We have just about two more weeks!!!
