Class of 2019 Boston College Early Action

What day will the application status change on the portal?

I don’t think anyone knows. It’s suppose to change after everyone is assumed to have gotten their letter. So It might change a few days after they send out the letters.

Looking at the portal ahead of time could be dangerous though because you might see something that gives you thre wrong idea about a supposed acceptance/deferral/rejection. I’m trying not to rely on the Portal so I don’t mistakenly think anything, because in past years there have been a lot of portal problems.

I’m nervous… my stats are good enough to get in, but I probably won’t get the presidential, so… Goodbye BC :’(

I’m just as nervous as you!!! :-SS I probably won’t check the portal just in case… but I also live in California so I don’t know if I can wait that long for the letter to arrive.

I’m assuming it will be around the week of the 15th that the letters start to arrive. How is everyone holding up?

Simultaneously nervous and excited.

Based on my experience from last year, the letters were mailed out on the monday before Christmas break and the portal changed that Thursday. I didn’t get my letter until a week later so when I saw the portal change it gave me an idea but I wasn’t able to confirm it until the Monday which was extremely agonizing.

@Eagle1095‌, what was the portal change that you saw?

It gave you the option to pay your enrollment deposit and there was a link to financial aid information.

Yeah, I just went onto my portal and it said they will not post decisions online.

so close yet so far away… lol @Eagle1095‌ do you remember the date that you got your letter? and what state were you in at the time? (if you don’t mind answering)

I’m so nervous, BC is my first choice and with my stats it could really go either way. Getting a stomach just thinking about it. I think it’s very likely I’ll be deferred, I don’t think I can deal with waiting till April though :frowning:

@ocomea15‌ I’m in the exact same position as you, my stats aren’t great and I’m hoping that my recs and essays will make up for them, but at the same time I’m a nervous wreck because, like you, I think I have a good chance of being deferred. You’re definitely not alone. BC is also my #1 by far and I understand exactly what you’re going through. Message me if you ever feel like talking.

SAME! My decision could honestly go either way!

We will tweet exactly when decisions are mailed, and will also provide updates throughout the month for students eagerly awaiting their decision letter. Our students are also continuing to post about daily life at BC.

Hang in there!

@DevlinHall208, if a student receives an acceptance, is the financial aid package also included in that acceptance?

I received my letter on December 23rd and I live in Florida. @suzy100‌, the Early Action acceptance packets do not have a financial aid award, if you sent in your paperwork you should recieve a conditional award in late Januaury or early February.

@suzy100 The reply by @Eagle1095 is right – the financial aid package will come a couple weeks later. Don’t forget you must still file the FAFSA, as the initial financial aid package only includes information based on the CSS Profile.

Thank you both!
