NYU should fix that glitch for next year’s applicant, it’s vicious way to anxiety. I wish it did not exist so that I could innocently wait for my decision. Big question here though: IS THERE ANYONE WHO GOT THE FA CHANGE WHO SUBMITTED THEIR APPLICATION REALLY LATE? LIKE FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE DEADLINE OR HOURS AFTER (AS I DID)?
Lol @VandaAree That was a terrible thought!! Although I didn’t apply for FA so no idea why they’d be shuffling things around for me…
I think the FA Change indicates NYU is looking at your finances. For domestic applicants, that’s an indicator NYU has accepted a student, because the university is need-blind for them and there’s no reason to look at finances otherwise. For international applicants, NYU isn’t need-blind, so admissions would always be in contact with the FA office to look at someone’s finances, so the FA change would show for them regardless. This explains why international applicants get the FA Change but aren’t accepted.
Anyway, I hope we all get in!!
@krayane1
Not only did I not apply for financial aid, but I submitted my application at 11:45 PM on January 1 2015.
I got the FA change.

plz add me to the group. My Facebook username: ebou.jobe2
I got the change!! ED II Primary - Stern! Secondary - Shanghai! I did an interview for Shanghai as well!
@bismarck1996 Yep, that’s what I think as well. Good luck to all of us!
Guys, does the FA change hold true for Poly?
Does FA change have an impact on regular decision applicants?
the FA change is not true. this is from the nyu blog.
Each year, many applicants continue to believe that changes to their admission or financial aid application fields on the NYU Albert website are an indication of their admission decision. They are not. The only way for you to know your admission decision is to simply wait for your email.
@BabyPanda33 I mean, of course they would deny any correlation, it would look bad on NYU’s part.
The system is run by Oracle. NYU simply uses the system but does not have very good control of it. It would take a lot of time, effort, and money to use a new system. And like boogapenguin stated, NYU would of course deny these things, because otherwise it makes them look bad.
@bismarck1996 @boogapenguin oh wow, thanks for tell me that. I was mad when I found the article.
Does the change mean anything? I got the change in the beginning of January
@BabyPanda33
How did you get the change in the beginning of January? Most people have gotten the change within the last 2-3 weeks… January is much too early to have gotten the change/to have had them evaluate your application. What does your screen look like?
@bismarck1996 my screen said award access not available. I think I log in to Albert in jan 2 and saw that. I send in my app for RD in nov 24
@BabyPanda33
That’s not the FA change.
@bismarck1996 oh, it when from no financial aid access to that. What’s the change then.
@BabyPanda33
It’s a table that says 2016 New York University No Award Access Available
@bismarck1996 thanks, my friend told me it was the award one.
@BabyPanda33 Nope, that was last year’s!
One of my RD classmates already has the change He also applied to stern if it’s worth anything to you :3
