Class of 2019 MIT EA Discussion Thread

@programmer8 I thought I read they did a purely electronic notification. Is that not true?

@jc1415 The decisions are only available through the website, but if you’re accepted, you receive the tube with some extra information.

Yep! If you google it or look it up on MIT’s website, you might even find pictures of kids admitted EA with their tubes (:

TUBES!!! The tubes also have things like confetti, balloons, etc. Also, I hear that if you’re accepted, MIT sends your family a Christmas card and other interesting things over the next several months. Well, until you make your decision I think.

Less than one day left!!!
Is everyone excited?!

Guys only a few hours left!

starts hyperventilating I have a countdown on my phone that says 4 hours left!! =0 these are going to be the longest hours of my life…

I think I’ve confirmed my ability to view my decisions one too many times haha

What better way of waiting for the MIT results to be posted than writing a computer program that tells you how much time is left for the MIT results to be posted!

The calm before the storm…

Accepted applicants will get tubes within a few days – although internationals might have to wait a week or two. and after that, MIT sends you hand-signed cards on certain holidays, like Valentine’s Day, with nerd jokes on them <3

Good luck you guys!! Breathe, breathe… Remember that MIT admissions can’t admit as many people as they want to – they literally cry when they can’t accept even some of their favourites. So, no matter what happens, chin up!!

@Felicidad Do admitted students get their tubes the week right after decisions are released?

Well Caltech is a no. Hopefully MIT is a yes!

Good luck everyone! <3

Best of luck to all…

Here we go!

Deferred

Oh boy…here we go…

I got deferred and so did everyone else I know who applied so far

I am not applying to MIT, but a friend of mine was accepted!
