Feeling your pain. Waitlisted. 4.0 UW, 35 ACT, NMF, 800 SAT subject test Math II & Physics. Vandy was 1st choice. Oh well–I’m probably off to UCLA Engineering School. Several others yet to hear from.
did they even let anyone in? holy cow.
Accepted; 4.0 GPA (unweighted); 2280 SAT, 35 ACT.
Where do you see your FA?
@Projectb - Where on the Portal do you see the Financial Aid information?
Accepted but I don’t think my parents can afford the full cost…
Waitlisted too… probably because of my ACT scores, but that’s THREE waitlists in a row now (MIT, UCLA, Vandy)
Waitlisted but I’m not upset, whatever is meant to be will be. ACT 35, top 5% of ~1300 (very competitive at the top), 4.22 Weighted, Eagle Scout, 4 years band, 4 years piano, 2 years JV track, basketball, baseball, AAU basketball, but showed 0 interest.
HUGE CONGRATS to all who applied, as applying to such a competitive school is an amazing accomplishment on its own. Good luck to all, no matter who you are or your scenario; God has a plan. Keep your head up!
@thedreamer2 it’s on the top bar, in between personal information and estimated cost of attendance
I really do think that a school like Vandy watches demonstrated interest. How could they not? Otherwise, their yield would be ridiculously bad (which would reflect on ratings and would also lead to chaos at the school, where filling all the beds but not too many is science). They HAVE to pay attention to who visits, who does the merit app. No school wants a horrible yield, and no adcomm wants the hassle of having to roll dice on super-talented students. Admitting every A++ candidate who applies, even if s/he showed no evident interest in going to Vandy, is a terrible strategy, and any of the high-priced “Enrollment Managers” colleges are hiring these days would make that an explicit priority. So, knowing that, and knowing the business that is college admissions these days, I do feel like I mis-stepped in having to cancel (and failing to reschedule) the visit and in failing to note the merit app deadline. Did the visit and merit app at Wash U and got in. Just saying.
@TheClassyCuber: Thanks, got it now. For some reason it was not showing me FA information under the tab. But it showed up now. Probably they had not finished uploading that information earlier… but now I can see. There is very little FA, will be difficult for my parents to afford. Not sure if I will be able to attend.
Rejected, but Barca is beating Madrid 2-1 right now so I’m not too upset
Congrats to everyone who got in!
Waitlist! I know that I am probably never going to get off of the waitlist but I am happy nonetheless that I was not rejected. I have a 31 ACT and 4.2 GPA weighted. So many people waitlisted and I am honored to be with such smart people on the waitlist. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist and a big congrats to those who were accepted!
I got rejected. I have 3 Vanderbilt baseball shirts that I’d like to get rid of, if anyone’s interested let me know!
accepted
it’s painful to see really well qualified applicants get denied i wish everyone could make it
Accepted and so excited right now! Asian female from MN with 35 act. I applied for merit but didn’t get it, also got zero financial aid and was expecting a lot so this isn’t looking so good right now…
Does anyone know if vanderbilt does paid visits for admitted students? Like how do we apply to get our plane ticket paid for, because I heard of someone getting that from Vanderbilt last year. Otherwise a visit would be difficult financially.
I was denied admission to Vanderbilt, but accepted to Emory with a scholarship. :-j My test scores were low for Vanderbilt’s standards this year, though (30 ACT, mid-700 SAT Subject Tests). Congratulations to anyone who was accepted to Vanderbilt!
Accepted and I don’t even feel like I deserve it everyone here seems exceptional.
@ackack Visited WUSTL, applied for scholarships --> Waitlisted. No visits, no scholarship applications, no demonstrated interest for Vandy -> Accepted. Who knows. CDS does clearly show demonstrated interest as “not considered.”
Have Emory decisions been released? My son also applies there. Waitlisted at Vandy-35 ACT, NMF, class rank 2, blanking on everything else. Second waitlist this week.
@canes19 I was accepted to Emory through the Scholars Program in January.
