D is waitlisted at Point Park from a fall audition date. They wrote in January that she’d hear during the first week of March, but we’re still waiting.
No from UMich:(
We’ve had denials from Wright State, CCM, IU, and Otterbein. Waiting like everyone else for several more. Oh, the waiting. Been soothing myself today with Reece’s Peanut Butter Eggs. Peanut butter fills the cracks of the heart, you know:)
Martin247998 - regarding the acceptance to Acting and not MT, this happened regarding son’s acceptance to Otterbein. After the initial euphoria of son being accepted, I did have my moment of “What, they don’t like how my boy sings?”, lol. He is a Freshman at Otterbein (though he did have two MT acceptances) and very happy with his decision.
Got a no from Michigan too. @mamaoffive LOVE the peanut better fills the cracks of the heart comment. :))
I will recap our year so far.
D broke her foot at her 2nd audition in November - at Millikin. During the dance portion of the audition.
Yay.
D passed one pre screen out of too many to mention. Nebraska Wesleyan.
She didn’t even pass the pre screen THAT USES HER PICTURE ON THE FRONT OF THEIR BROCHURES FOR IT’S SUMMER PROGRAM.
At this point, she’s wait listed at one program.
Waiting to hear from two others.
Several nos.
Two “so-we-don’t-wan’t-you-for-MT-but-join-us-for-theatre-studies-anyway” offers.
And 4 more auditions to go.
And one new dress.
:-h
@KaMaMom…you are me and bisouu last year…and look how it all worked out for our girls. I’m praying for you and your D!
Elon just sent email that they will release decisions electronically Sunday. Oh and a no from Pace.
@eastchestermom … I am so grateful to parents like you and @bisouu (and LOTS of others!) who have been so totally supportive on here. Not to mention have private messaged me thoughts and other options.
So happy you two (and others) stuck around to help all of us that are in the thick of it … I will try and do the same and pay it forward next year!
@MTDadandProud where did you see the no from Pace???
I left out @bisouu when I was talking about role models! Bisouu is my hero, too!
I will say it again, YOU ARE MY PEOPLE! Without you there would not be enough peanut butter eggs in the world to get me through!
Repeat after me, people…we shall overcome! This is interesting…my D was on the train coming home for spring break when she heard some girls talking about MT college auditions at Molloy/CAP21…oh boy, it was those girls’ lucky day! They got a real live freshman to interrogate.
The anxiety of not knowing where my son will be next year is overwhelming at time.
I feel for you, @martin247998, and all the others. Keep the faith!
Stop with the Peanut Butter Eggs talk!!! Gave them up for lent. And hugs to you all.
I figure this process represents my Lenten journey. Not giving up anything that I can self-medicate myself with.
@Divamamacita - in the car today driving D and friend to rehearsal the girls started talking about Lent. When D’s friend asked me what I had given up for Lent, I replied “My sanity and peace of mind. It is MT BFA college auditions- Decision-waiting season!” my D chimed in with an “Amen, mama, amen!”
Heart has taken a couple blows the last 2 weeks! Thankful for a few amazing options, but just ready to know already!
Denied from UCSD, kind of came as a shock to both my parents and I (but UC applicants have been extremely competitive, so it wasn’t unexpected)
Unsure about what will happen with other UCs, since I haven’t heard from them yet- But all are more competitive than UCSD, so I’m not hopeful
My parents don’t want to talk with me to consult about other options/future/where to go and I’m just very lost
