The Elon 9/15 pre-screen deadline is if you want a FALL audition date. The 10/15 pre-screen deadline is for the spring dates. I have about 5 different spreadsheets, a designated calendar and a “do by October 1” list with 85 items on it. Ahhhh. Today, I am cracking the whip on the essays. Isn’t it crazy that UofM needs 4? One is only 100 words, but still… 4 writing pieces? And we just found out that the IB Theatre (advanced audition theatre class at our HS) play will be performing Th, Fr, Sa of the weekend Unifieds starts. I guess we hit the road right after curtain Saturday night. I know we will have things on Sunday. And I say ‘we’ because this is definitely a team undertaking.

Ok, so our germbana scarves just arrived in the mail today, and I have to say, they’re, um, interesting. I can’t stop laughing. My D, on the other hand has that expression: you don’t seriously think I’m going to wear that. Yup, she’s really going to wear that. If any of you want to recognize me at auditions, I’ll be the mom laughing hysterically in the black scarf.

@MTmom2015 - I stand corrected. Perhaps I didn’t include that on my spreadsheet because I knew it was not going to happen in this household. @tmygirl - Sorry for the confusion.

LOL… @W2BeHome It is an unreasonably early date. We actually thought about trying to do Elon in November. It would be much easier to drive from MI in that month than in February. But, after much shuffling, the only date that will work is February. So, winter driving it is. As ever, provided we pass the pre-screens.

Taking deep cleansing breaths :-)

Does anyone have up to date info for University of Miami yet? Their website blows!

@MTmom2015 we will be making the trek from the mitten as well :-)

My D’s year we went to Elon from Michigan the first week of March. Once we got past Pennsylvania it was fine. All the winter driving was dicey but living in the mitten helps because at least we are used to it.

@tmygirl it’s always a good idea to have your speakers and recorded music with you even if they say they have an accompanist. When my D auditioned for Ithaca they moved rooms and a piano didn’t get moved so people were scrambling to get there recorded accompaniment

Thank you @broadway95!!! Putting that in my notes!!!

Just found out my D passed her Penn State prescreen! She submitted on Monday and heard on Friday! Yay! This is all happening isn’t it? And, she found out on the same day she was cast as the Witch in Into the Woods for her last show at the HS. A great day – though I know I a going to lose it when she sings Stay with Me!

Yaaay! @Divamamacita Wishing you all much success as you continue your journey!

Back at you, mtjones1!

@tmygirl you can probably assume that U Miami will have a couple of early December (first week) on campus auditions. Then will be at NYC, Chicago and LA Unifides followed by likely two more on campus dates in mid Feb. That was the pattern several years running. (And yes… the website blows and has for years but they are in good company as far as that goes with many schools.)

Awesome @Divamamacita!! Congrats to your D!! And you!! WooHoo!!!

@Divamamacita YAY!! Its beginning!! Congrats! I LOVE Into The Woods so much, Otterbein is doing it for their spring musical I am so hoping S is cast.

Congrats @divamamacita!

D is not scheduled to record her prescreens til 10/12 … she’ll miss the Nov. audition deadline for IU. But if she would’ve passed, it would’ve been a bit crazy timewise as she’s in a community theater production too. I have to keep thinking everything will work out for the best.

SIU’s MT Prof called D yesterday morning … caught her a bit off guard. She’s scheduled for a 10/4 audition w/ them and he just called to see if she had any questions. I thought that was pretty neat actually!

Awesome KaMaMom What school is SIU? “Everything will work out for the best” is going to have to be my mantra through all of this!

Southern Illinois University.

It’s actually where I went to college … so D and I will have a nice little weekend getaway and I can show her where mom got crazy. ;)

Forgive me, but I am very concerned about the “only one continuous take with no edits and only shoe-changing for all your prescreen elements” requirement mentioned several replies back. Please disclose which school has this requirement as a kindness to others. Sharing information is the purpose here, no? I haven’t seen it on any of the websites I’ve been monitoring but I’m worried that I missed this somehow and prescreen shooting is in six hours! 8-X

Are you there, Addicted2MT? Anybody else have the skinny?
