My sister is graduating in May from Berkeley and I get to have the pleasure of visiting the school that waitlisted me. lol! !! At least, better than being rejected. I had the false assumption that if my sister got in, I had a good chance because I was a better student. I really, really wanted to go though… Man, life is cruel. lol fingers crossed
Me too,
I wish UCB also invited waitlisted to the “newly-admitted” tours. Quite difficult to get a weekend tour for 2+ guest to Berkeley since its uncommon and must be book months before
@Diamondketo
I’m not advocating you do this, but it is quite easy to tag along to a tour with guests. They typically meet @ Sather Tower or the steps in front of Sproul Hall. When we went on our scheduled weekend tour before the whole application process, there was no check-in process.
Yeah, and if you manage to get one person registered like my family, the guide was happy to let the rest of them come along.
Is it worth sending a follow-up note/e-mail expressing interest and updates (GPA, Awards etc.)? Or is it a waste of time, or worse is … it looked upon negatively? Wait listed at UCB and a couple of other universities, not sure of the right approach.
@lunar2015 I have the same question… UC Berkeley is my #1 but i know they don’t really take expressing interest into account… not sure who i would even send the email to if i were to send one and if it’s a good idea to send it or not… for most other schools showing interest is good and you should send an update/interest email but idk what to do about UCB
Has anyone called the admission office to get the total Number of students on the waitlist
