Did anyone else who applied for financial aid receive an email today from the financial aid office?
It was not addressed specifically to me but to all Pomona students. It starts like this: “Greetings Pomona Students! This is a reminder that the deadline to submit all your documents is April 15th”?
Is this a good sign for me or did everybody get this regardless?
I didn’t get it either, but I already submitted the CSS and FAFSA, so maybe that’s why? Also I don’t expect to get in… It might be indicative of something tbh
I have been searching through old Pomona threads on CC, and apparently Pomona finishes reading applications by March 15, and mails decisions on the first Friday (or a week after that, at most) after. Based on this pattern, they will probably be sending out decisions on March 25.
I’d also add that for EDI and EDII, Pomona did not notify applicants via email or via portal/website when they plan to release decisions. Instead, you must keep an eye on PomonaJoel’s twitter, although Pomona may notify since there are significantly more applicants during RD.
They started committee on March 1, and Pomona has a history of releasing on Fridays at 5PM Pacific. I anticipate decisions to be released on March 25, as I think March 18 is too early. For the last two years, they released on March 21 and March 20. But I think March 18 falls out of the range, especially since Pomona had a surge in applications this year.
However, UCLA followed the same release pattern for the past two years and rumor has it UCLA will release decisions on the 18th, so you never know . . .
FWIW: For EDII, Pomona released on 2/12 rather than 2/5, but the year before, released on 2/6.
@rosycheeks22 Seeing as IDOC stuff was due March 1, I’m not sure what other documents they could be referring to. I didn’t get one but Pomona is a reach for me so it could mean something.
I wouldn’t be surprised! Last year decisions came out on the third Friday of March. The years before that decisions were only mailed so it’s hard to tell when they were released.
