Class of 2020 Results: Celebrate, Discuss, Support Here

@fretmother We went quickly from congrats on all your acceptances to wow, I don’t think we can pass up that free ride at University of Kentucky. Yes, I think she is feeling some let down. She is so lucky and has some good full tuition options as well.

@mstee Congratulations on your DD’s acceptances. To save money, you can do YouTube virtual tours first to weed thru the acceptances.

Super happy that D16’s final decision came in today (technically she still has a EA deferral outstanding, but I don’t think she will be waiting to hear back from them unless it is in the next week or two.) She was accepted for Marquette’s direct entry BS/DPT program. The letter said they had 900 applications for 62 spots. So proud of her!

wow! congrats @labegg that’s impressive!

@mstee Rollins is beautiful and a great school, I work 5 minutes from the campus in beautiful downtown Winter Park, Florida.

Congrats @labegg @mstee @eh1234 @midwest67! Always love to see the good news, and watching the students make their selections. Good luck for those who will be in this all the way through April, and stay strong. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Okay, added the results to the master list.

I was just coming to post that my D16 is feeling the exact same way. She was sooo worried in October/November/December that she wouldn’t get in anywhere. She got in at one early action school in December. She was very relieved. Last night, her facebook was blowing up with kids announcing acceptances to the local flagship. She checked her portal and she was IN! Yay! Then I asked her which one she liked better, the EA school in sunny CA or the local school (where it’s currently zero degrees) . She looked terrified. She’s always had trouble with making decisions. She has ten more decisions from schools to go. She’s going on a school trip to Europe the last week of April, so she’ll have only 3 weeks to make that decision.

Totally agree that D is struggling to make choices. It does not help that most of her friends are set and happy to go to local flagship. She is down to 4 realistic choices, but seems to have no idea how to narrow it further. Pressure is ramping up–local scholarships and awards want her to say where she is going now.

Waiting for one more scholarship interview next weekend and notification of whether he is awarded it or not . Should also hear about Clemson Honors this weekend. DS16 says he is 99% sure of where he plans to attend . We’ll see if any new info changes his mind.

Got into UC Berkeley via early notification!

My son was accepted to Quinnipiac, U of Albany, NYIT, and Drew University… all with Merit scholorships. He is still waiting on Northeastern, Boston U, Fordham U, Syracuse, Scranton, Binghamton, Wheaton Massachusettes, and Emmanuel.

He wants to study Behavioral Neuroscience so obviously we are seeking a great program but also a school that is generous with scholarships and aid!

Clemson Honors acceptance received yesterday .

Hello! New to CC- my daughter got accepted at U of Alabama (Presidential scholarship, Honors College), Case Western EA (some scholarship $$ as well), and UNC Chapel Hill (our home state school). She is still waiting on 4 RD schools- Vanderbilt, Lehigh, Emory, and Cornell. Vandy and Cornell are her 2 “reaches”. She is a legacy at Emory and Vandy- her dad went to Emory for his undergrad degree, and Vandy for grad school. She wants to major in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Right now, her top pick would be Cornell. Probably second place is Alabama (the money is pretty nice, and they are good at wooing high achievers).

@icecoldpepper11 Which one are you picking?

Son likely to go to Baylor University. Visited last September. Lots of great schools in Texas. Going to school in Texas from California will be a blast!! Anyone interested in business major and a Christian has to visit. New business building has all the bells and whistles and so does new football stadium. Very impressed with communication from the school since the very beginning. Anyone looking for a private Christian university should check it out. First class all the way! Doesn’t look like he will get into Cal Poly SLO but happy Baylor is ready and waiting!!

Baylor is a very nice school. My daughter fell in love. She has been accepted to Baylor and TCU. Her only draw back is the distance (mine is the cost). We will see if she gets the scholarships to make it worthwhile and if she can put the distance aside. So many decisions to be made.

How far away does she live? Is Baylor or TCU her first choice? Baylor seems to be more in line with mainline Christianity while TCU not so much which made our choice easy. We are waiting for financial aid letter as well. Trying to remember that with God all things are possible and my son getting accepted at Baylor back in October and not getting into our in state choice would seem to make this the pathway for my son.

@Baylorpoly She knows if she attends she has to get the scholarships or otherwise it is not affordable for us according to the NPC. Baylor is her top pick but she really liked the campus of TCU too. I do know they are different - the reason Baylor is #1. We have family in the area and looked at colleges there due to that. Yes, all things are possible.

@Baylorpoly I didnt answer your questions. We are approximately 600-650 miles from Waco.
