Class of 2020 Results: Celebrate, Discuss, Support Here

Hopefully she can make it there. I am trying to do everything possible for my son to go. It is a university experience that can’t be found anywhere else

I need to update the list, but can’t access Google Docs from work.

My S is intending to major in MechE, or AeroE depending on where he winds up.

S accepted to
Rutgers (honors/merit $),
UDel (honors/merit $),
Rowan (merit $), UPitt,
Colorado School of Mines (merit $)
RIT (We think as we received a “congrats again” email about FAFSA/financial aid, but his portal isn’t updated and no other information has been sent by the school).

Still waiting to hear from Virginia Tech, CMU and UMD.

All of this has been very positive for him after getting rejected ED from Cornell which was by far is top choice (though he knew it was a bit of a stretch).

The decision making process will be interesting. He’s pretty much ruled out the two in state schools as he wants to experience something other than NJ. If he had to pick today I’m not sure what he would do. I think the choice will actually be easier once the last three decisions come out.

Son is deciding between ME at Ole Miss (in state) and Colorado School of Mines. Waiting to hear if he is accepted into the CME at Ole Miss. He and his mom are returning from Mines today, so I look forward to hearing a recap. He likes both a lot.

@dbjs70 I have a son at RIT and he’s very happy there! A friend’s son is at Pitt, also happy. Good luck with the rest of your son’s results.

@257WBY would love to have your son’s results in the full list, too. Please do update yourself if you can – it is anonymous.

My S is in at Illinois State (honors) and Univ of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (honors). Waiting on one late March decision school. Intended major is computer science or computer science + linguistics. He is struggling to decide between a highly ranked program at a large expensive school (a little merit) and a decent program at a mid-sized school with more merit (and more reasonably priced). I thought my 3rd kid would be easier but no. Not at all.

DD has been admitted to:

St. Olaf, merit
Lawrence, merit
Knox, merit
Beloit, merit
UIUC, no money
Iowa State, merit
U of MN, merit

Waiting on several others, but I think Olaf and Lawrence are going to be in the final smackdown.

Congrats @TytoAlba!!! You D has a great set of choices

Decision made! After receiving and reviewing all college offers, my daughter has decided to attend Florida Atlantic University and was accepted into their college of Nursing under their Freshman Direct Admit Program. What a long six months it has been filling out applications, writing essays, researching schools, and receiving great offers from multiple schools. It is a relief to finally know where she will be spending the next four years. She had some great offers from schools like Alabama, UAB, and UCF but FAU is the best fit for her academically and financially. Now I am getting ready to say goodbye to my bank account as I prepare to pay the deposit, housing deposit, orientation fee, etc. Excited for her future!!!

@BAmom1996 Congratulations to your daughter! How exciting to make a decision.

@BAmom1996 what great news for you and your daughter. Enjoy the rest of the ride!

D is a freshman at Rollins. The campus is everything like the pictures online and lives up to it’s “prettiest” ranking.

Congrats BAmom!

D was accepted to LSU Honors College and a finalist for Stamps Leadership Scholars Award and Louisiana Scholars’ College. Applications were withdrawn when she got her ED acceptance to Rice University. That’s her dream school and where she will attend. She only put out 3 total apps. She was planning on applying to Vanderbilt, Bryn Mawr, Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgia Tech, Princeton, and possibly University of Michigan if she did not get into Rice. (I may have forgotten some)

So Rice or LSU?

Rice

Great choice

Still waiting on two, and no closer to any sort of decision on where my S wants to go.

Hello I am new. Thank you for sharing all of this marvelous information.
My S is 3.5/4.3 W, 34 ACT. Law/public policy
Admitted EA to Iowa Honors, TCU honors, Gonzaga, Willamette, Boston College. No rejections yet …
Waiting for: Cornell, Wash U St. Louis, Oberlin, Emory

@Imaldun welcome and congrats to your DS. You should join us on the 2016 parent board. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/class-20xx-community/1296016-parents-of-the-hs-class-of-2016.html#latest

Proud dad here. My S cashed in with a 1600 SAT/36ACT. Fantastic EC’s and recommendations. Accepted to UVA honors, UNC honors, Maryland honors, and Ohio St. honors (without a drop of merit money). In too at Michigan State but with full package. Waiting on Penn, Princeton, Harvard, Duke, and Vandy, which should be out soon. Without sounding like he’s entitled to something, I have to admit I am shocked the publics (other than MSU) didn’t even try for him. Their loss I guess! Congrats to everyone else.

^ Wow I thought there were guaranteed scholarships at OSU based on Stats, like Buckeye. Crazy. Well, you have plenty of choices! Congrats!
