@teatromama that’s great! When did she find out?
I know people have gotten in off the waitlist in years past, but not a lot, maybe one per year. Sound right @bfahopeful ?
Congrats @teatromama! Last year they admitted one girl from the waitlist. It does happen. They did that in early May I believe. In past years people have been notified over the summer too. The number will vary by year but I am guessing 1-2 is an average.
How many do you think they take on their waitlist then? 2 girls, 2 boys? Seems strange that we still haven’t heard anything
She got a call this morning.
I think what people say about WLs is to take it as an affirmation of your/your kid’s talent and move on. If it happens, great.
@remartin67 last year only one student (a girl) was admitted off the waitlist for UNCSA. I’m sure it varies by year.
I would guess everyone should hear something within the next week or so (waitlisted or not). The decisions have been made. You can email Bill Poole to ask as well.
Admittance/WL calls for UNCSA’s High School Drama program were spread out over 2 full weeks last year…IDK if it’s the same for the BFA. My D got the call 9 excruciating days after one of her friends did:
There were no UNCSA acceptances on the MTCA list yesterday either…
Did anyone do a walk-in for the Royal Conservatory of Scotland? My D did, but we didn’t do the app yet. They emailed saying that they can tell her the results once she completes the app. Would a school put you through all of that just to tell you “thanks but no thanks”? She would definitely consider going there.
It’s a good school.
My D did a walk in as well @LAM2017 and we heard nothing back so I would say a good sign. We never sent in the application because I figured if they wanted her they would tell her to apply. It’s a great program and she would definitely have considered going.
Thanks @owensfolks – maybe there is still a possibilty
nerve-wracking isn’t it @remartin67? I get so many telemarketers calling my house and I never pick up the phone but I’m finding myself picking up calls just in case!
This service really works and I love it so much! You have to get used to letting your phone ring more than once, however, because the service prevents the call from ringing a 2nd time if it is a recognized telemarketer.
Oddly, we hardly ever get one-ring calls anymore, so I guess they’ve gotten the message. I was getting 10+ 1-ring calls every day at first!
@LuvLABS I was all over that…but it doesn’t work with Verizon! :((
nomorobo has changed our life!
@marg928 it works with our Verizon FIOS home phone number. But, if you meant it doesn’t work with Verizon Wireless, you are right. Nomorobo encourages users to contact their wireless provider to tell them they want the serviceto work for cell phones - maybe if we spread the word the cell companies will start doing what needs to be done so we can block those annoying interruptions!
- sorry for the thread drift! I actually logged on to see if anyone had heard from any schools today. (I knew it would be hard, but I really didn't think the waiting period would be so difficult. So much nothing after so much constant preparation, planning and travel feels empty.)
@LuvLABS it says it works with FIOS voice but not traditional Verizon. Honestly I’m not sure what I have…I do have FIOS for TV but I thought I had traditional Verizon for my landline. I’m going to check…thanks for the info.
Ok I’m freaking out…my D just noticed that there was a missed call yesterday and today from Winston-Salem…
It was THEM and they left her a message to call back, which she did but no one answered so she had to leave a message! OMG I can’t take this…and it’s Friday so who knows if anyone will check the messages…
