I was just curious to hear where everyone has heard back from in terms of prescreens to see generally how long different schools are taking. So far I’ve heard a yes from Syracuse, Pace, UMiami and Ithaca- and a no from Penn State. Still waiting on Indiana and Elon, and just submitted UMich.
My D passed her prescreen for Otterbein! It took about a week to hear back.
My D heard a no from UCF, Florida State, and Coastal Carolina. Yes from UMiami, Marymount Manhattan (regional audition). Still waiting to hear Elon and Penn State. She submitted all right around 11/1/16.
My D submitted video prescreens to FSU (Yes) and Elon (Waiting). And did live pre-screens for Penn State and Baldwin-Wallace (No’s), U of OK (Yes) and Otterbein and TXState (Waiting)…
I received a No from Coastal Carolina
My S in still a year away from this part of the process, but the mix of yes’s and no’s for each student is so interesting (and confirms all that I’ve read). And makes me even more aware of the need for safeties!!
We just sent all of our prescreens out yesterday. I thought that Baldwin Wallace did not have a prescreen this year? I also didn’t know that Marymount Manhattan had a prescreen. We have a general audition scheduled with them already. One confusing thing was, when D sent Pace Mt prescreen on acceptd , I wanted to send also in a prescreen for straight acting. I don’t seem to know how to do this , does anyone know how you send in a separate prescreen for acting on pace? I’ll try to download another application and it would not do it
BW does not require a pre-screen. They did a regional audition, where they would let you know if you should spend the time and money going to an on-campus audition. My D is not what they are looking for this year…
@musicmama123 - Marymount Manhattan had pre-screens if you wanted to do a regional audition. I don’t believe there were pre-screens for on campus auditions.
D has heard back from her 4 pre-screens-PSU(no),Syracuse, Shenandoah and Pace all yes. Pace was the quickest reply(less than a day) and the others were about 2 to 3 wks.
Nice surprise. My D actually did pass the Penn State live pre-screen and has been asked to audition. We were told that everyone who passed was notified in the audition room, but she received an e-mail last night!
D has heard Yes from Catawba, Penn State, Syracuse, Michigan, Ithaca, and Florida State; and No from Otterbein.
Where/when did your D audition for Penn State?@KelviVan
I’ve only sent out prescreens to Elon and Coastal Carolina, and received no’s from both… hopefully I’ll have better luck with the rest!
You will, @jessieburnett. It’s early. BAL!
Heard back from Syracuse . It took 10 days. Just submitted 4 others.
I passed Michigan, Miami, Syracuse, Pace, and Elon. Still haven’t heard back from Indiana.
Oh no… just went to schedule Syracuse it looks like all audition spots are filled at Unifieds. I hope this isn’t the same for all… hoping to get several in at Chicago. NYC unifieds already booked mostly with colleges around here…
If all of the audition spots are booked at Unifieds, keep in touch with the school. My son scheduled an on-campus for a school whose Unifieds spots were all booked, but the day before (NY) Unifieds, a spot opened, it fit with his schedule, and he was able to walk across town that weekend to audition, rather than drive 6 hours through the snow.
You can also check with schools when you’re at Unifieds - one of D’s didn’t have any spots open, & she scheduled an on-campus audition, but let them know she preferred Unifieds. The first day we were there she stopped by, introduced herself, & let them know she wanted a spot if possible (they had told her to do this). The 2nd day they were able to fit her in. Much easier than a 9 hour drive!
