k cha Hem dai?

To all of you who made it, congratulations. It’s a pure happiness getting into college that was your top choice or one of your top choices. But, as someone who went through all of this, I would like to say you all to believe that “Where you go is not what you will be”. It ultimately boils down to your abilities and don’t be afraid to take a second chance. It is easy to get frustrated if you did not get into a college, but please don’t panic. Now, i want to address these salty comments. I do not want to sound bossy, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk ■■■■■■■■ about this wonderful OF program and its wonderful applicants who work so hard. I somehow agree that they are in a certain advantageous position when they apply. But, hey you did also have that opportunity to be there. If someone gets in, specially colleges like Harvard and so on, it is damn beacause Harvard wanted them and only them. So how come you come to banter about someone’s abilities who beat all the odds to get there. Be respectful. I completely understand some of you saying it’s unfair. I mean I used to think the more or less same way at one point. But, you rather earn it than complain it. If not now, next time. Now I am not affiliated to the O.F program or what not. In fact, I did not get into it. I am just requesting you guys to be respectful of others. Lastly, it is a matter of proud that someone from your high school, community or country gets into these bigass colleges. Imagine someone from Nepal not getting into Harvard for 10 years straight. How proud would you be ? Not really right. The ones who got in deserved it. So, just keep

Are Nepali applicants getting better or Harvard’s trippin’? Can’t even figure out at this point. 3 students in a year is INSANE!

It is a little bit of both @professor.heisenberg. Hope this year inspires future applicants.

Looks like nobody got into Stanford this time

Stanford- Liverpool/OF, Trinity/OF

What is the process to get into OF ?

@Dixit It’s kinda similar to applying for colleges. You need to write essays, submit your academic transcripts, and almost all the things you do during your college application process.

@SexyKtaMoh This year’s college placements were abominable. This should not be an inspiration. Not everyone aims for ivies, and for Liberal Arts Colleges, I guess the results were substandard compared to last year.

@professor.heisenberg how can you call them abominable? This year I see two acceptances from Williams and one from Swarthmore when I saw none last year. How is that substandard?

@professor.heisenberg Why abominable? and why shouldn’t it be an inspiration? Moreover, why are the results substandard? This year’s result is brilliant as it can get, and it should inspire all the future applicants from Nepal to work hard and get into good colleges.

Yeah, students got in. I know. But a single student was admitted to 5 top colleges while others weren’t admitted to even one. Last year 14/18 Opportunity Fund students got into great colleges while this year that number is 5/18. See the point? 4 of the OF students clean swept the entire colleges. My point was this year’s acceptances weren’t distributed enough. Compare this year’s college placements to last year’s.

This is last year’s.

So what? Almost everyone applies to maximum number of colleges in the RD pool. I am sure you did the same. Who will take the risk of applying to small number of colleges? Those folks applied and got in. The results are better than last year’s result. Why should we care about distribution?
