Wright St 1/24 (a date one person heard last year)

@DramaLlama18 You are awesome for pulling this together for all of us. This information is so helpful! I don’t see NYU Tisch Regular Decision on your list. Is that date April 1st like most schools? Does anyone know if the decision also notifies the student of the studio they want to place them in? Thank you!

@CaMom13 wow - thanks! Great cross reference. Qualifier: some of these are anecdotal from individuals in previous years, so the same date may not apply to all applicants (unless it’s a school that notifies all at once.) Like everything in this process, exceptions are the rule! The one thing we know for sure is that everyone will know their status, in, out or waitlist by April 1.

@posivibes Like, Steinhardt, Tisch is one of the last to notify for RD - all of NYU on the same date at the end of March or on April 1. The drama department does the studio placement. If you applied to MT you will be considered there first. If you are not accepted for MT you may be deferred to one of the other 5 drama studios. It’s a long wait - hang in there!

I remember reading that studio placement would be a full 2 weeks after notification. So if you were only wanting NSB then you might not know until two weeks before deposit day. My daughter changed her sheet at the last minute from New School only to All Studios and I kind of wish she didn’t b/c I don’t think she would truly want one of the acting studios. She is very much a singer and dancer.

@El-Cee - it never hurt to have options. Changing to “all studios” doesn’t hurt your admission or assignment chances for NSB it just gives you a higher chance of a spot at NYU. You can always say no!

@posivibes - I changed the Steinhardt notification on the “by date” list to “NYU” because they release all decisions at once. The studio assignment does come in within 2 weeks of acceptances, last year it was on April 11th (exactly 2 weeks after acceptance notifications on 3/28).

@DramaLlama18 - I just felt like a cross reference was helpful for people with date anxiety. LOL. I remember last year and I think it would have been super helpful if I’d known which weeks my D should have been frantically checking her portals and maybe which weeks I didn’t have to think about. Not that I wouldn’t have obsessed anyway…

@El-Cee At the NYU auditions, Molly, the Admissions Coordinator shared her story about how she attended NYU Tish. She was not assigned to the New Studio, but she was able to take all the singing and dance classes she wanted. So even though she was in one of the acting studios, she was able to continue her musical theatre training at NYU Tisch.

Is Otterbein notifying today or is that information the date from last year?

Wright State hasn’t sent out notifications yet - they stopped doing rolling this year.

Last audition is tomorrow.

Ohio Northern and Ohio University are rolling.

I believe Nebraska Wesleyan is rolling but they’re taking auditions up until April 1.

@anybodyhaveamap for Otterbein, this week you should have receive an update e-mail - either no or “still in the running” notification. Final notifications (yes, no or waitlist) between now and mid March.

@jpkcmo, thanks. Will try to stay patient.

Is 3/8 the decision date for Feb 1 auditions OCU? They said within 4 weeks from then.

@Brecktwins19 That’s the day we heard last year. My D auditioned that same weekend in February last year and they said the same thing but that’s when we heard.

Thanks! My D will not check her emails every few minutes knowing this!

Did someone post that having “interested” under Ithaca profile picture was a positive sign?

Never mind! Just found the post with answer. It is not a status update!

@loribelle @Brecktwins19 We were also there that weekend. In the info meeting, the PD said we would have a decision in 2 to 4 weeks. The faculty around him began to chuckle and squirm, and he said it would probably be more towards 4 weeks. Didn’t sound like a set date st that time.

Last year Ball was first week in March so that seems late unless they changed it this year. The one acceptance is from a camp last summer. No one else I know of has gotten an offer.

Note - there’s a cross-reference list by date for those who self identify as "date anxiety "sufferers on p. 18 of this thread. Thanks @CaMom13

• updated Otterbein
• added Ohio Northern and Ohio University (both rolling)

@DramaLlama18 Thank you for keeping this updated!!

I think that Shenandoah will start notifying this coming week and finish by 3/10 (via phone for acceptances) if they stay consistent with past years. At the info meeting, they said they’d start the deliberations right after the last audition (which was 2/23) and then get all notifications out by 3/10.
