@Kristiern1 Congrats! Still nothing here for my D, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed!
Hi all. I’ve debated telling this story, but my heart feels compelled so here goes…last year was my son’s senior year. He was taking 4 AP courses and was lead in 2 shows. As a result of his crazy schedule, he only applied to a handful of schools for MT, several others just academically. He auditioned at Michigan and fell in love with the school/program. He didn’t get in…and as our artistic kids will do at times, he doubted that this was his path. We were at BU for academic orientation when he texted me and said that he couldn’t do it…couldn’t give up on MT. So we came home, regrouped and decided he should take a gap year. He was able to spend time picking schools/programs, working on his acting/dancing/song submissions without the distractions of senior year. Long story short (too late ?) he got the call from Michigan on Thursday. If any of your sweet, talented, doubt-filled kids need to hear this story, please share. My prayer is that they all find their perfect fit. Grace and Peace.
Was just going back through old emails and wanted to add that NYU/Tisch Drama sent out acceptance 3/28 but studio placement wasn’t sent until 4/11.
@laundrylawyer Wonderful story, and congrats to your son!
@laundrylawyer amazing story! Congrats to your son! Wonderful to share!
@MTBACALLY - ok the way I was searching was bringing up those students still waiting and those accepted. When I searched the way you did, I came up with 16. 10 boys, 6 girls (assuming I got the names correct for a couple that could be either male or female!). Their class is bigger than that and I’ve been told that they take more to yield their class size. In prior years they have admitted about 25, so they may accept even more to yield their class. There is still hope yet, or at least that is what I am telling myself!!
@32barMom are you saying you can see the names of actual kids who were accepted by logging in? Not the ones who have committed but those who were made offers? You can see other kids offers?That feels crazy.
@jbrown Yes, can see accepted kids, don’t know if it is the full population because becoming a member of IC PEERS is voluntary, so there could be more acceptances. Also, I don’t know if they have committed or not, just that they have been accepted into the program.
@32barMom Thank you!
@klrbee16 - congrats on Ithaca! Congrats to anyone else I missed, too!
@CaMom13 Thank you!!
@Kristiern1 My D received a waitlist from Indiana University today as well ?
@jbrown @32barMom FYI they’ve added 8 more names to that Ithaca MT group: Hope one of them is your child. Not mine - yet…
@MTBACALLY thank you. My daughter has the portal login info and won’t check ?!
Sounds like the process is still in flux… hoping good things for us both. I’m not sure she ever signed up for the IC Peers thing… wonder if that matters .
@tatteredandfriendly
RCS sent an email to tell her something had changed on her portal and she had to log in there to see
Deleted double post
Anyone know if the Pace calls have started up again?
Kind of a slow news day, so far! I’ll add to the big list for the next update:
• Regarding Wagner, from over on the “venting” thread: they said they wanted to make decisions ASAP and that the students they want will hear in early March and the ones on the waitlist will learn at the end of the month. Guessing the earlier we hear, the better the news will be. Wishing you all the best!
• Right on queue, Indiana (IU) started notifying via GetAcceptd. Why don’t more schools use this channel for artistic notifications? It would be so much easier, since prescreens are housed there and it would take some burden off of the schools’ own servers.
• Lots of Ithaca portal drama as notifications continue.
I’m a bit confused. Is there really a solid reason to believe that Ithaca is done?
@MTBACALLY - still in limbo here, not looking good. Looks like they have enough for a full class now
