Someone in a snapchat group just said they know someone from admissions that confirmed its fraud. This is insanity.
@EmilyH22 wdym by fraud? It’s from the UCONN email address. Did someone like hack it?

Did they get my personal information? My essay is very personal to me. EMBARRASSING! I’m about to cry.
I highly doubt it’s fraud… the UConn network especially when it comes to admissions HAS to be secure at all times or else valuable information can get leaked.
The whole situation with the date mixups, the financial aid not being available, etc. is HIGHLY concerning
@EmilyH22 perhaps someone from admissions posted that in snapchat to divert the attention. Someone is getting fired on Monday!
If the dates are different on everyone’s email how could that be accurate??? Clearly something is off here

Please… everyone CALM down!!! It’s not hacked, your personal info is not leaked, you are absolutely fine. There’s no need for a news story or anything to that ridiculously extreme length— it’s just a new interface struggling to be sent out to 10,000+ applicants. Deep breath, decisions are by this Sunday anyways.
I don’t think it’s an issue of fraud, more like someone hit send accidentally
If you didnt get the email there is a chance you just didnt qualify for financial aid IMO
I went on UConn’s website and the actual email address is financialaid@uconn.edu
My sons email is from StudentFinancialAid_Services@uconn.edu
