Class of 2025 Admissions Decisions ONLY - University of Delaware

DS admitted last week (see above). Admitted to honors college yesterday.

@Wowthatspricey how were you notified about the honors college? My son was admitted 11/4 but his honors application is still under review.

@mlk75 just a random check of the portal and it’s there with an update on the portal and updated letter regarding honors on tab that lets you see acceptance letters.

@fanoffriends thank you!

I applied 10/14 and my application was marked completed on 10/26. My major is Criminal Justice but I have seen people who’ve applied later with lower stats and received decisions already so I am a bit on edge. Should I be worried or am I just overreacting?

D21 accepted 11/4 got honors admission yesterday. Still no mention of merit money.

@NTG It probably is random. I completed my app on 10/27 and heard back on 11/4. It’s pretty random and you should not be concerned if you have not heard back yet.

Just checked the portal. It was updated yesterday.

Does anyone know when you find out about merit money? Do they mail a packet with it and if so how many weeks historically after acceptance? If your kid is borderline for honors (in terms of SAT), do you think acceptance would come in right before deadline like Feb? Does honors come with additional scholarships? We absolutely loved our honors visit back in Jan. We are hoping!

I’m under the impression that merit is based on test scores? My 19 year old is in honors and received the highest scholarship besides full ride.

My daughter got her acceptance 11/4, ACT 33 SAT 1470, 4.2 W GPA. Actuary science. She’s having difficulty getting into her account, wondering about honors. Her initial application had her first scores, 32 and 1410, from January, because she could take another test until October and scores weren’t in when she applied.

Acceptance arrived last night

SAT: 1480 - submitted
GPA: 4.1 W
Rank: Our school reports anyone with a GPA 4.0+ = rank of 1. That really means roughly the top 20% of the class
State Residency: VA

Applied date: 10/26
Decision date: 11/20
Decision/College: Arts & Sciences, Applied Math major

Anyone know how long honors college decisions usually take?

@JESmom looks like honors decision were recently first released on 11/20 and several admitted students from 11/4 release date received word so that offers up a timeline of sorts.

Kind of liking that everyone over 4.0 is a 1, covering the 20% of the class.

My son was also admitted into the honors college last night. Admitted 11/4.

My D was accepted on 11/04, and she got the update yesterday that she was admitted to the Honors College. Seems like the same timeline as a few others. Congratulations to all who have been admitted.
Regarding merit, I found information on their website that it should follow 2-3 weeks after acceptance. Hopefully, in time for Thanksgiving celebration!

My D applied late October, accepted when she logged in today, hope to hear from honors soon. Major: Biology, from Mo Co MD

SAT: 1420
GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.65 W
9 APs

Congrats to all accepted! Sadly we never did an official visit but we did drive there and walk around a bit. Did an online honors session.

My son was notified yesterday that he was accepted into honors. He applied EA on 11/1 to chemical engineering. I think he was accepted on 11/13.

Does anyone know why the portal might be saying there is a recent teacher recommendation letter received when all were sent via naviance by the guidance counselor back over a month ago:
Received Teacher Recommendation (optional) 10/06/2020
Received Teacher Recommendation (optional) 10/10/2020

@cgemaj: Same thing happened to my D with several colleges she applied to. The only connection I can see is that her duplicate recs (and transcript in her case) coincided with a new transcript/rec request she made for another college app. My D has to submit a physical form to her guidance office in addition to the Naviance request for recs & transcript. They’re allowed to use the same form and simply add to it with each request (max of 10 colleges per form), which is what she’s done. I figured that could’ve caused confusion, and duplicates may have been sent. Does your high school have a similar procedure?

The UD portal appears funky like that. I would go and check (way too often) and see that it would say things have been updated when there was absolutely nothing to prompt anything to be updated.

The fact that is says “Received” repeatedly is actually good because I would be more concerned if it were showing the reccos were not there.

I’ve found that the ideal way to verify that a school has downloaded anything is by confirming through the common app under the specific college’s FERPA/Recommender tab. There you can see the exact date that a school downloaded each and every item that has been submitted.

My daughter got her acceptance on 11/4 and honors college on 11/20 like some others here, still no merit info.
