Class of 2025 Admissions Decisions ONLY - University of Delaware

My son’s dollar amount went down. No joke.

They decreased his Pell Grant from small to smaller.

Thanks @Mjkacmom and @ashley41 !

Clearly, I am losing it.

I actually think the need to maintain a 3.0 seems reasonable. I’m just seeing some of my friends’ kids who were strong students and are college freshman this year coming out of really tough first semesters and it is a little scary and sad. I feel terrible for all of the kids in school who are struggling right now. :frowning:

I’m guiding one of my seniors to stay in state and not rely on merit, because he’s not doing as well being virtual as his twin sister, who is fine.

I"m so sorry to hear that - kinda awful of them to say the least.

Is you S experiencing the same decrease in Pell Grant award at all of his colleges?

Actually no. U Del had awarded him the most Pell money (still not much) but then they adjusted down to the same amount as the others. So I can’t get mad about it, just disappointed.

Great choices and nursing is very competitive! That is good merit aid at UD. My son has West Chester and Temple too. UD gave enough merit money so that after the aid that we are close to the cost for in-state tuition at Temple, so we are leaning UD. Although WCU is the best financially

My OOS daughter was today admitted to UDel regular decision. How does notification of any merit scholarship awards come? For regular decision does it come now on the portal or at a later date?

My son was admitted EA and about a week later his portal was updated with a merit offer. A week after that he was invited to join the Honors College. Congratulations!

Accepted in early December. Told that she didn’t qualify for merit (which didn’t make sense) since the first financial info was published and sent to our house. 10K per year in the portal last night! Hope everyone who received less than they expected early on gets an update!!!

Interesting to read that some students were accepted into the honors college already but had lower merit; my student received the highest merit amount offered but hasn’t heard about honors yet (even though she received admissions decision in November). I know there are a few more days to hear but not sure at this point if it will be good news or not!

Same thing has happened to me. Accepted Nov 13 with the Trustee Scholarship but still no sign from honors

Same here. My D was accepted with 15k merit but has not heard from honors.

Same

My daughter didn’t get any merit but did get in the honors and was invited to Scholars and Fellows program.

There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for the merit.

I think everyone was invited to apply to scholars and fellows.

Was everyone invited to the Scholars & Fellows program by email, portal update or regular mail? My daughter was invited to honors program and world scholars program and got $17,000 merit, but doesn’t see anything about being invited to Scholars & Fellows which I believe is different than World Scholars?

The world scholars and scholars and fellows invitations are both on the portal and UD also sent snail mail invites.

I wonder if those not invited to fellows and scholars will get the invite to distinguished scholars weekend?

My current freshman was invited to both so, no. She is a current Discho and in the cybersecurity scholars and fellows program.
