Class of 2025 Admissions Decisions ONLY - University of Delaware

It was merit, and I got an email that said my financial portal was updated.

Congratulations! Did you do anything to prompt the change, like speak to the AO or financial aid dept?

No actually. I did get significantly less than I anticipated at first, so I think they just made it up to me.

Do you mind sharing your stats? My S got less than expected also, hoping something is coming his way.

Sure, 94 wGPA, 1390 SAT, 16 APs/DEs/Honors classes

Does anyone know if you can be in the Honors College and still participate in a program like Climate Scholars?

Yes you can. My son wants to be in the Innovate program and they told him about 40% are in both. However, you do have to live in the honors college. You would have access to the LLC dorm for Climate Scholars.

I did a financial aid repeal and they gave me $4,000 (I didnt get anything in the beginning, so its better than nothing) however, not enough for me to go there. It is my first choice and I am very disappointed as I thought I would receive enough merit/aid to attend. Do you think I could repeal my merit again?

How long did it take the school to respond to your appeal? We also submitted one. Thanks!

I believe It was about 6 weeks
they did it in 2 pieces. first time I got $3000, then they added an additional $1,000 a few weeks later

Thank you!

I think it’s based on a recalculated gpa formula so I don’t know what the appeal could be. Based on previous years it was test scores, my daughter’s fell in the $17,000 range, but her UGPA is only 3.9, so she got $15,000 instead.

how do i submit a financial aid appeal?

Anyone hear tonight? We are waiting on a deferral.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Climate Scholars or Delaware Innovations Scholars or Grand Challenges Scholars? They all look interesting. I’m wondering if people have been happy with the programs and how much work is involved. Also, is there a way to express your preference? I see that you are accepted to only 1 program, but don’t see a way to communicate student preference.

My son was accepted to Honors College and World Scholar program, so I’m assuming he is ineligible to apply for other scholar programs?

They can still apply for Scholars and Fellows in addition to being in Honors and World Scholars.

is there any extra merit involved in being accepted to scholar programs?

I don’t think so.

Thanks! That is good to know.
