international politics still there :frowning: not having fun waiting

Same here for my daughter

A bit dramatic. PSU committed to release early actions decisions by 12/24. That’s still days away.

actually not dramatic at all. it’s really frustrating to see people continuously getting accepted every day when you know your application is still under review. it’s extremely stressful, aggravating, and difficult

No different than at any other school. Penn State said you’d have a decision by Dec 24. Being angry at Penn State or withdrawing applications prior to that is a bit dramatic.

But this is good practice for being a Penn State student. If the application cycle is too much, then likely your student won’t be happy at PSU. This isn’t a small liberal arts college where there is going to be a lot of hand holding or personal letters from the heads of departments. Penn State invites you to attend and you can take them or leave them and they move on. They are too big for anything else. Same goes for being a student here. Professors are very helpful, but they don’t do a ton of handholding.

There are not any students who “deserve” anything more than anyone else. Every EA student was promised a decision by Dec 24…and that decision could also be a deferral…until Dec 24 the anger at psu is unjustified. Frustration, however, is certainly understandable.

If you haven’t heard by Dec 24 and you are livid then I would understand that. Pulling applications prior to Dec 24 is premature.

Agree, very frustrating. And imagine being 18 and having a crappy senior year, stuck inside, virtual learning, not seeing friends etc… then watching people get in and you haven’t heard. Very frustrating indeed. Mine got in and I feel horribly guilty about it too since so many are waiting.
