Class of 2025 Admissions DISCUSSION

I am also pretty sure nobody is truly going to withdraw their application and are just voicing frustration.

I understand that. I have a senior also. It’s been a crappy year for sure. I’m just trying to give some perspective. The process is brutal…I’ll give you all that

Best not to make a rash decision in the heat of the moment. He made it this far…

So a friend of ours is liberal arts and the button is grey, but its been grey too ugh

nursing, sent in test scores and button is still there! :frowning:

It was obviously sarcasm when he said it.

But other schools are a lot more transparent in their decisions or release them all at once. I told my son all along to pay attention to how schools treat him during the process because it’s unlikely to change once he gets there.

Many people have been checking daily for a over a month. It’s easy to say be patient with an acceptance letter in hand or for maybe for someone who has already been accepted to their top choice but is just curious. There are so many unknowns this year. It’s 2020- people are frazzled. It’s particularly frustrating when people you know have been accepted and you haven’t. Be kind and let people vent!

Yep , Just a few more days of patience for a fruitful result… then we all can party

i agree 100% !!!

Ok, that doesn’t really make sense indeed.
Perhaps too many applications to Eberly? A problem somewhere in your application?
Switch that major, depending on what you’re interested in, for

  • Biological Anthropology or Human Ecology in CLA (excellent if you’re hoping for med school, other venues open)
Anthropological Science, B.S. | Penn State
  • Geobiology in EMS
Geobiology - B.S. | Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences
  • Immunology in Ag Sciences (good for med school, pharma, industry)
Immunology and Infectious Disease — Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences
A possible explanation: the number of med school apps has increased 18% due to a possible “Fauci effect” and a possible “covid” effect, which would likely mean (since HS students may feel the same about society and the pandemic as college students) an increase in premeds too and many Biology majors think they want to be premeds… so they may have way too many Bio majors? (I don’t know, I’m trying to hypothesize).
Can you afford to do Summer Session? LEAP is a really great option and all students who did it think it was the best decision they made, but it IS pricey.

yes!!! i am a 17 year old current senior in HS and my senior year was stripped away from me in seconds. i check my portal DAILY and it is so frustrating to not see anything when i know students are getting accepted by the minute. we know this isn’t a small liberal college, and just because we’re frustrated doesn’t mean we wouldn’t “fit in” or be happy at psu.
