Daughter just found out she was accepted 2+2 at Altoona for Psychology. She is not interested in a 2+2 program. Any way she can request reconsideration for another major? Can a student request to be deferred and reconsidered for later date?
do you mind sharing her stats and did she apply for the summer session? i applied for psychology and altoona is my second choice as well but i haven’t heard back yet:(
S17 (#1) is a senior at Virginia Tech.
S19 (#2) is a sophomore at PSU in Meteorology - he loves it, loves it, loves it! He is trying to convince S21 (#3) to attend. Mom and dad agree - it would nice to have 2 under one roof.
S21 is leaning toward PSU but still has to hear from a few schools. If PSU is his choice, he will definitely try to get into the IST SLO in Thompson Hall. S19 loved his experience in the EMS SLO in Irvin Hall…and S17 had a great experience in VT’s engineering LLC. We’re big fans of living/learning communities.

She did apply for Summer Session. 3.8 GPA. No scores submitted.
I also have a 3.8 gpa and I didn’t submit my test scores. I say you should call PSU Admissions and ask them to reconsider her for UP as an undecided major if she’s really interested in PSU
I am shocked for sure, my guess is yield protection, likely if you are OOS and not many from your HS come it could br more about that than anything
good luck to everyone waiting to hear tonight, remember that the admissions process is kind of crazy this year with everything going on and being test optional for the first time. everything will work itself out and you will end up in the best place where it fits you. everyone in this thread is a great student or if youre a parent your kids are great students as well and any admission decision does not define the type of person you are or how smart you are. good luck to all and im crossing my fingers for all of you!!!

I think the trend is this - for the most part, if you didn’t select yes for summer, you’re getting 2+2.
Hi all, I haven’t heard back from Penn State, does anyone know the reason why?
You get the 2+2 if you didn’t select summer AND they couldn’t offer you fall. Plenty of people select summer option but get fall at UP.
If you don’t select summer, you give them no “second choice” for UP start date so if you can’t be offered admission for fall (GPA, test scores, full or competitive major etc) then they have no other option than to give you the 2+2.

psu is random with their applications and the ea deadline is december 24th so you’re good! i’m also waiting, hang in there!
