The Test optional button disappears when your decision is about to come
It means that a decision has been made
Also I didn’t get an email from penn state
And my status changed from “your app materials are being verified” to “your app is under review” just yesterday
Under review just yesterday? That seems very late mine was under review for almost 1.5 months.
May be it’s good thing they are finalizing and decision out today. Button disappears typically after 6:30 pm
What’s your stats ?
The woman I just spoke with in admissions told me she just got a memo about the issue and to check the portal after lunch. It should be resolved by then. 1PM or so.
I didn’t see the Test Optional Button on the portal. I only see Change My Test-Optional Answer Button.
I still get an error. Congratulations to you!
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Does the student get an email telling them to check their portal? My son’s button disappeared last night but I want him to be the one to see any news first! He is so laid back he won’t check until tomorrow probably because “they said the 24th” lol I am dying!
me to
Decisions will be out today. Maybe in just one or two hours.
DD was accepted to Smeal for fall 2021 at UP!!! She is thrilled!!!
I just spoke to admissions. They echoed the same thing someone else said, which is IT says too many people are logging on at the same time, but that it should be resolved by 1pm.
The woman I spoke to did confirm a decision has been made for my D21, but she could not tell me over the phone.
naviance indicates geographic location as very important. some would lean towards oos having an advantage as they would be paying higher, oos tuition, which certainly benefits the school. with psu being neither a private or public institution it is not working to hit a required % of acceptances from in state.
so…naviance noting geographic location can be interpreted either way…
they look at your location to show how much revenue you will bring in
or
they look at your location to fill seats with in state residents
with all the satellite campuses i think i had come across that psu can accommodate upwards of 90K students. with so many campuses, selecting summer start, 2+2 and fall start at UP makes it very likely that a student can attend psu.
No, no email before to tell you to check portal. So, I would check portal. He won’t know you looked at it first. LOL That’s what I did!
My son got accepted into the Global and International Studies major, Liberal Arts, for fall 2021 at UP. Glad to know the late accept really meant nothing as to the result. He is out of state (NC), but every immediate member of his family who went to college went to PSU. So he is a legacy plus some. WE ARE!
Summer Civil Engineering
There is hope! DD applied with no scores, 4.0 weighted, lots of volunteer hours, a job and just one very dedicated activity - equestrian- since she was little - we are elated!
I just use the excuse “someone I know said the PSU portals are updated. Go check”
just curious, but why do you say it it not a public institution? Isn’t it a state school?
It is technically “state affiliated” I think the word is. Basically the in state tuition is much higher because it is not fully funded by the government. Pitt is the same way. If you look at Penn State and Pitt’s in state tuition, they’re both quite high for state schools, because they aren’t technically true state schools.
Portals are updated!!
Just got my acceptance to UP fall 2021 nursing. I’m OOS
