Class Rank/Freshman Year Grades

Hi guys, I had a question about applying to Princeton.
I initially felt attracted to Princeton because of the fact that they disregard your freshman grades. I'm one of those students who did abysmally in freshman year but did much better in the sophomore and junior years. However, would such a policy (not counting freshman year's grades) even matter when class rank is involved? I am currently in the top 10%, but if it wasn't for my freshman year grades, I would be somewhere in the top 3~1%. Would Princeton understand that my freshman year grades dragged down my class rank and look at it more leniently (since they disregard the freshman year gpa)?

Thanks. (Sry if the question is alittle confusing).

Yes, they would assume that your freshman year affects your rank. Of course, it wouldn't make up for an absolutely terrible rank, but since you are in top 10%, I don't think your rank would matter as much.
