My school does not rank AT ALL…at no time are any students GPAs released or compared…what do I do on the esimate class rank question…? I truly have no idea where I fall.
BTW…I go to a highly selective private school with only 80 kids in my class this year. So its even extremely tough to estimate top ten percent, etc…

Don't even fill it out, or write "unknown." My school doesn't rank either.

What college would ask students to estimate their own rank? That is ridiculous.

I'm in the same situation. Highly competitive private school with 100 students in my class. My conselor told me to put NA.

I agree that it is probably ok to put NA on the student part of the app that asks about class rank, but if you have time to ask your college counselor before the deadline, that might be a good idea. Also, your school probabyl does have some form of class rank thta it does not make public, and the college counselor's portion of the app will likely indicate what decile you are in; that, in combination with the formal school profile that a selective private school is likely to send along with the apps, will tell the schools where you are in the context of your graduating class.

In the college statistics, where class rank is mentioned, the percentage of students submitting class rank are submitted. Students of highly selective high schools may be in the bottom half of their class, and still be very competitive at colleges.
