Class Selection for Freshman

Going into freshman year, I’m taking the Multivar/Lin Algebra class, Prose Fiction Forms and Techniques, Principles of Micro, and Gen Physics 1.

I wanted to take one more course to fufill an AXLE requirement (INT, US) and my options are:

HIST1060 Premodern China - Lorge
HIST 1080 Premodern Japan - Igarashi
HIST 1370 Coloniol Latin America - Landers, Jane
HIST 2721 Globalizing American History - Kramer, Paul
HIST 2580 American Indian History Before 1850- Usner, Daniel
HIST 2540 Race and Nation in Latin America - Castilho
HIST 2300 Twentieth Century Germany - Blackbourn

I’m wavering between these because I want an easy AXLE course, but the lower number courses are taught by harder and worse teachers than the higher number courses. Does anyone have any advice on the easiest/most interesting among these classes?

I apologize for any grammar errors!

Four classes your first semester is plenty. Given the math class you are taking, I’m assuming that you have AP credit for 1st year math. You may also have other AP credit. From a parent, this is the semester to have between 12 - 14 units. You want to have the time to explore various extracurricular activities and make new friends.

Have you checked these courses and professors on VoiceView?

I do agree with @Go9ersjrh that your current schedule looks fine. You need to average just 15 credit hours a semester to graduate (that’s with zero AP credit). You will have a little more than 15 some semesters and a little fewer other semesters. Your first semester at Vandy is the ideal time to take fewer hours.
