Yea, I over post here O_o. But I was wondering whether or not you guys could give me advice on just one class selection. So at BU, I got my WR 100 and WR 150 passed off, taking out my writing requirements. In addition I have a social science knocked off (Microeconomics). This is for engineering majors.

I want to select a new course, but since I have no previous experience at BU, I need your advice.

I could take macroeconomics (provided the class isn’t full) to fulfill a SS in depth requirement. Or I could take a Humanities. I need to check what is open, but 70% of my choice will be based off of time since I cannot change my already selected classes. In general, I would consider taking archeology (great discoveries in archaeology, Archaeology of Classical Civilizations, Archaeology of Ancient Egypt) or a philosophy course (Introduction to Philosophy, Great Philosophers, Introduction to Ethics, Politics and Philosophy, Reasoning and Argumentation) to fulfill my humanities requirement.

Any recommendations on teachers? Classes?

Thanks

Both of the lecturers for those archaeology courses (Roosevelt and Bard) are excellent scholars, although I have never studied at BU so can only comment on their teaching ability from secondhand accounts. I’ve heard that Bard can be quite demanding of her undergraduates, and she wrote the textbook she uses – so be prepared to work hard if you take her class. I’m less familiar with Roosevelt since he’s fairly new to the field, but I’ve heard great things about him. “Great Discoveries in Archaeology” sounds like it might be a good bet.

if saturno is teaching ar 100 in the fall semester, TAKE HIM! he is hysterical and gives you the test questions before the exam and always has funny stories to tell. also lots of movie-watching!

Great Great GREAT!!!

Im so lucky both Roosevelt and Saturno had convenient timings. Rate my professor gives Saturno a very very high score - so I ended up going with him. Apparently Roosevelt is fairly difficult.

Thanks a bunch!!!
