Does anyone have any suggestions on what classes to take as a freshman? I'm looking to major in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations with a potential double major in German. I'll have lots of my liberal artsy Gen Eds fulfilled, but I need to still take the math/sciencish reqs.

Any suggestions? Any truly amazing teachers that I should try to get?

Please see my response on a different thread (Transfer Student + Schedule). A lot of those course suggestions (and prof suggestions) will apply to you as well.

Klimko for Statistics (MATH 147) is the best way to get rid of your math gen ed. Very easy class. You’d have to try to fail his class.

Not too sure for science. I would stray away from general biology, chemistry, or physics. Those classes are hardcore and are really excessive for someone not majoring in the sciences.

I would’ve recommended Lockard for Microeconomic principles (ECON 160), but since you’re planning on political science, you won’t need this class for your Social Science gen ed.

if u don’t like sciences, take astr 114 and 115 for the lab credits (gen-ed). it’s easy to get at least an A-.

and as for “G” gen-ed, i’ve heard geog259 is a very easy course (but also really boring).

also, most freshmen take writing 111 so u should definitely put that into consideration.
