Class you're most scared of taking this upcoming year?

AP Econ, It’s Micro and Macro, and as a freshman it’s intimidating. But I’m also taking AP US government and politics this year, and that’s also pretty big for a freshman I guess.

I cant really think of the class that Im most scared of taking… but AP Calc BC will definitely be the most stressful class.

IB Math HL is legitimately the most terrifying/stressful aspect of my life right now.
(It’s also why I’ve hardly gotten any sleep all summer haha.)
Seriously considering dropping to SL, but then I’d have to factor in the rigor difference on my app, and the decreased weighted GPA, and I’m back to square one. I’ll also be taking chem SL, and maybe AP stat or physics SL, but those pale in comparison to the behemoth that is HL math.
Gah sophomore year is gonna suck.

AP Lit because English classes are the bane of my existence and AP Comp Sci because I have zero knowledge of coding plus the teacher sucks.

AP Chemistry shudders

AP Chem

AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio

@honcho @tr33fiddy That class is absolutely nothing to be scared of! It’s incredibly manageable. PM me if you need help.

AP Bio cause I am not that interested in the subject, but did well in the class. Also everyone before me says Calc AB is really difficult.

AP English Lit too. Summer homework is already rather awful.

AP Calc BC and AP Lang

Calculus. Not because it’s hard but I am having a completely new professor.

AP Chem
in june, the teacher told me that i would probably struggle because i don’t have as much chemistry experience as her other students will
and the summer assignment is daunting

Ap calc AB and BC

I’m appalled that students are taking classes they are scared of.

@JustOneDad sorry that you’re “appalled”, but that’s the way it works sometimes. For my scholarship program, I’m faced with taking either AP Chem, AP Physics, or AP Bio my junior year; otherwise, I’ll lose my scholarship. And maybe you don’t see it, but none of those classes look particularly welcoming. Some students are interested in a class, but the teacher doesn’t have a good reputation. Whatever the reason is, you’ll never find a student who has gotten a warm fuzzy feeling from every single class they’ve taken.

Interesting theory. I wonder if it is correct.

Last year, I was terrified of AP Calc. I was never a math superstar growing up. I was good, but not fantastic. God, I was so, so scared for that class. I spent so many nights worrying if I had made the right decision and whether I had bitten off more than I could chew.

Turns out I really like calculus! It goes to show that there’s no reason to be scared until you experience it for yourself. Best of luck, rising seniors

@JustOneDad People are scared of classes they aren’t familiar with. At my school, the STEM program/AP teachers are the best in the entire school. You might dislike the subject at first, but these teachers are usually amazing. If you’re willing to learn, eventually you’ll love or respect the class. Invested teachers make the biggest difference.

AP Physics(first year being offered at my school), the seniors last year at my school said that regular physics was extremely hard. I can’t imagine how hard AP physics is then if that’s true :frowning:
