So we are doing scheduling this week and next week for classes for next year. These are the classes I plan on taking:

AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Calc
AP Spanish
AP Language Arts

and possibly AP Computer Science, which will be a new class next year. The course description is a little foggy so I'm not exactly sure what will be taught in that class [Has anyone taken it before?]

These are the only AP classes I have not taken at my school so far. Do you think this will be too much? I've taken AP classes my sophomore and junior years and I have received A's in them. As for AP Spanish, my school is odd and we must go through Spanish 4 before taking AP but essentially they are the same thing so that should be a breeze. AP L.A. shouldn't be too bad either nor should Calc as I am a huge math nerd. But I'm not sure if I'm being a little too ambitious taking AP Chem and AP Bio on top of everything else and I don't really want to choose one over the other either.

So what do you suggest? And also, do you think I should take AP Comp. Science?

I think you shouldn't take 5 AP classes as a senior. You will overburden yourself and you want to have some fun your senior year. You're honestly not going to be able to do that with that schedule. Lighten the load a little bit, that's my advice. AP Spanish is pretty intense, and Calc can be hard and time consuming. I know Chem is really time-consuming and you might honestly burn yourself out.

I suggest that you DONT take AP Comp Sci and drop AP Spanish just like I did =). AP Spanish is not for the faint of hearted in my school, it is such a deadly class. And as a senior, you don't want to spend every second of your life doing schoolwork and remember all of those apps that you'll have to fill out next year (so exciting I know ha)

I'm taking:

AP Bio
AP Lit
AP Calc AB
AP Gov

and I consider that to be quite strenuous yet somewhat duable.

I don't really care if I spend all of my time doing work, I'm very much so the studious type and I find that I get bored easily if I don't have homework to work on. Workload isn't really my worry, I'm just wondering if all these classes combined will be too ambitious intellectually, as in if I try to do all of them will I start getting Bs and Cs instead of my straight As which I've received taking all honors and a few AP classes (I would have taken more but you have very limited AP options as a sophomore or junior, hence that I've already taken all the other AP classes, just another kink of my school).

AP Bio isn't much, taking it as a sophomore now.
AP Calc is easier then precalc.
AP chem idk, taking next year and heard horror stories.
AP Spanish... hard if not native.
AP Lang is easier then Lit but harder to pass the exam.
AP Comp Sci.. school doesn't offer but I think you learn how to use Java.

I'm going to assume you're referring to AP Comp Sci A since College Board is discontinuing AB this year.

I'm taking A right now and I have to say it's been pretty easy. Not super easy, mind you, but easy enough that I generally spend maybe 2 hours a week on it [outside of school].

Work load probably varies by teacher, but mine says that his students got mostly 4s last year, so hey.

This year I'm taking AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP Micro/Macro, AP Lit, and AP Psych. Its doable, but they're not the super hard APs (like BC or Chem, which I suck at). Bio is the only one that has a lot of reading. But I do think I should've taken less, just because there is so much other stuff to do senior year that you don't want to miss because you need to study.
Oh and I took Comp A sophmore year, it wasn't that bad.

It really depends on your hs. Ask people in your school who have taken the classes already/are taking them this year about how much time they have to put into them. Ask multiple people and get a good feel for the classes. :)

Computer science should actually be pretty fun for you if you like math (though I guess some people might be aberrations) because it's along the same vein of thinking.

Don't take AP Bio and AP Chem at the same time - I think your schedule is a bit too demanding (it would be for me anyway). I'd say take Bio instead of Chem...easier class (I'm biased because I despise AP Chem though). Idk about AP Comp Science though, my school doesn't offer it and I don't know anything about it really.

4 APs seems to be a good courseload for a senior. Don't be influenced by all the people on here taking 6-8 APs at once. Not worth it. If you want to keep a decent social life while being able to somewhat easily maintain good grades your senior year, take:

AP Calc BC
AP Bio
AP Spanish
AP Language Arts

That courseload would allow you to enjoy senior year while still taking for the most part your school's most demanding schedule.

Heh, at my school, most APs are easy where the teachers give you easy A's and B's and expect you to do the work yourself and pay attention in class if you want to pass the exam. My Bio teacher lets us turn in work at any time and we've taken about 2 tests so far not counting the county final exam last semester. He assigns packets and vocab but doesn't enforce it at all. The only non-simple A class is APUSH (and AP Lang to an extent). I'm taking 5 AP classes this year, and it's not that bad at all.

Next year I'm taking:
Nutrition and Drugs (Dual Enrollment)
AP Gov't
AP Macroeconomics
AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
AP Literature
and AP European History

And so long as I'm done with my summer online classes by the start of school, that won't be that hard to maintain at all. That plus hopefully volunteering alot for a local zoo.
