Do you give lots of in class presentations at Cornell?

Like things that involve public speaking? Is there many instances where you have to get up in front of the class and speak often?

Depends on what classes you take. In big lectures: it’s pretty safe to say no. In small classes: perhaps, but probably not very often (unless you count typical class participation). Of course, there are also COMM classes that revolve around public speaking.

Most of my classes have been a combination of lectures/small discussion sections, and the only time I gave an actual “presentation” was when I had a final group skit in my Chinese class.

Presentations aren’t all that common in the grand scheme of things. And classes that give presentations are more frequent in some majors than others. I would imagine an AEM major would be giving more presentations that perhaps a math major, but everything varies.

Are you talking about 1102 or another course? I just finished 1101 so I’m curious.

what type of presentations do you give? I just want to get a feel for the teaching style
