class presentations

How often do you have to make presentations in class?

My teachers have been telling me that college is full of such presentation assignments. This depends largely on the subject of the class right? Are there many presentations in science classes? I would guess no...

science classes have nothing of the sort. in north campus classes, you may be asked to lead a discussion session with a group of other students or something like that, but those are in small classroom environments. you never have to present in front of an entire lecture hall (that im aware of). oh, if you take a speech class, there will obviously be speeches.

everything that you learned before college is a lie! except maybe math. i remember in elementary school they forced us to practice cursive because we would have to use it in high school and college. in high school the "five paragraph essay" was drilled into most of us as the "correct" way to write a paper. we learned electrons follow pretty circular/elliptical paths around the nucleus in clearly defined "energy levels". all lies!!! :p :D

Engineering majors rarely ever have to make presentations that are graded. If you're in South Campus and you choose your GE courses diligently, you can probably get by without ever having to make a presentation in your entire undergraduate career. :rolleyes:

VTECaddict,

I had to make at least a couple presentations in my poli sci classes.
