classes

How does this sound for my very first semester (14 credit hours):

Unifying Principles of Biology
Principles of Chemistry
Precalculus (BOO)
English Composition

If, by chance the biology or chemistry is full (they have 133 and 155 more spots open, and the first registration is may 30th, which i HOPE to get, i register for orientation tomorrow) then I will take Human Anatomy and Physiology.

Sounds like a pretty nice schedule to me, not too hard but definitely doesn't look easy at all. Those classes can be pretty tough so make sure you stay ahead with everything. Premed?

btw, "principles of chemistry" and "principles of biology" is that like an intro or is that the first class in the sequence?

Biology major...

No...there is many biology classes and there is chemistry 1 and 2 and organic chemistry 1 and 2....so its the first of many lol

And that versus:

College Algebra
U.S. History
English Composition
Survey of Chemistry

^^^ My sisters schedule...

AHeartLikeHis, I'm a biochem major I know whats up :P what I was asking if the principles of chemistry is your chem 1.. if its not then you should take chem 1 first. Anything below your General Chem 1 is kind of useless

thats a requirement....it is chemistry 1.

oh ok, yeah then you got a good schedule. so you aren't premed? what are you looking to do w/ the bio major? Any certain professional schools.. or do you want to be a professor?

I want to teach high school biology :)

oh man, high school?! I could never deal w/ those damn kids lol more power to ya.. but after taking those classes.. are you sure you want to just do h.s teaching? If you get good grades in a bio major you could be looking at 300k salary.. its something to take into consideration.

how in the world would i make over 22k with a bachelors in biology?! hmmm? I'd even go for a masters right away....

I meant things like professional schools(med, dental, pharmacy school). If you stick with that field and choose to do masters/phd programs you will probably end up doing research/being a professor as a career. If you like that, then its a great job way to go, but I think after taking some labs you'll be able to figure out more what you like to do!

oh heck no....oh HECK no...

The ONLY way I would EVER consider medical school is if I had a guaranteed job locally as a Forensic Scientist.

I LOVE teaching...I formulated a lesson and taught a Spanish class full of 5th graders last year.... LOVED it. But my heart is with science and high school...
