Hey all, I just need some quick advice.

So I'm going to be dropping my stat class cos it really isn't do anything for me- not breadth, not needed for my major (at least not this particular stat class) so it seems pretty much like dead weight. I only took it b/c I needed more units. Anyway, I'm debating between two classes to replace it with. Classics 10A or History 7B.

Now, Classics is something I'm definately interested. I used to read mythology as a kid, I took latin in HS, etc...so I really enjoy that stuff. Plus it knocks out a breadth requirement for me. However, the course description says that it is a really intensive course, lots of reading/writing (don't know how true that is). I'm taking mostly breadth courses this semester to ease myself into college, I figured I'd save the hardcore stuff for later. Anyway, although I'm interested in the material, I'd still like to keep a relatively easy load first semester so I can explore and enjoy the rest of college life.

History 7B is my other option. The reason I considered this class along with Classics is that not only does it knock out a breadth for me, it also knocks out the American Cultures req. The problem (or advantage depending on how I look at it) is that I already took a (legendary) AP US History course in HS, aced the AP test, etc.. I've been told that if I decide to take this history course, than I would have to forfeit my AP credits. I think breadth/AC can only be satisfied by Cal classes anyway, right? So essentially all the AP stuff is elective credit? I think you get 5 units for AP, whereas the class is 4 units. Anyway, I think that this classs will probably be easier since I've already done the material, plus it knocks out multiple requirements. However, I'm not sure how vital it is that I keep the AP credit.

Tomorrow I have to decide. I'm going to both lectures tomorrow to look at the classes. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
